The betties\u2019 ride isn\u2019t over. HBO has renewed the Betty <\/em>comedy series \u2014 about a diverse group of female skateboarders \u2014 for a second season.<\/p>\n

The first season of Betty<\/em>, which ran for six episodes, debuted in May of this year. In the traditional Live same day ratings, the half dozen installments averaged a 0.03 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 148,000 viewers. The series aired on Friday nights at 11:00 PM where HBO comedy series typically draw low ratings.<\/p>\n

HBO Renews<\/a> BETTY For A Second Season<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW YORK, NY \u2013 June 18, 2020 \u2013 HBO has renewed the comedy series BETTY for a second season, it was announced today by Amy Gravitt, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming.<\/p>\n

<\/span>\u201cIt\u2019s been a joy to ride through the streets of NYC with the inspiring women of BETTY, and we\u2019re grateful to them and to Crystal for sharing their stories and friendships with us,\u201d said Gravitt. \u201cWe can\u2019t wait to watch where our beloved Bettys go next.\u201d<\/p>\n

HBO\u2019s six-episode half-hour series BETTY is based on Crystal Moselle\u2019s critically acclaimed feature \u201cSkate Kitchen.\u201d Lauded by The Hollywood Reporter as \u201ca celebration of Femme self-acceptance\u201d and Rolling Stone called it \u201ca low-key victory for the matriarchy.\u201d GQ named it \u201cyour new TV obsession\u201d with Variety highlighting its \u201cgorgeous cinematography and verve.\u201d The series concluded its season on Friday, June 5.<\/p>\n

Starring Dede Lovelace, Moonbear, Nina Moran, Ajani Russell, and Rachelle Vinberg, who all starred in the original film, BETTY follows a diverse group of young women navigating their lives through the predominantly male-oriented world of skateboarding, set against the backdrop of New York City.<\/p>\n

Season two credits: BETTY is directed by Crystal Moselle; executive produced by Moselle, Igor Srubshchik, Jason Weinberg and Alliah Sophia Mourad; produced by Untitled Entertainment.<\/p>\n

Season one is available to stream on HBO GO, HBO NOW, and on HBO via HBO MAX and other partners\u2019 platforms.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
