“#How to Connect a Samsung Galaxy Watch to a New Phone”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Connecting a Samsung Galaxy smartwatch to a new phone can be a little annoying. Sadly, it\u2019s not as easy as simply tapp<\/a>ing a \u201cconnect\u201d button. We\u2019ll show you how to make the process as painless as possible.<\/p>\n

The process begins on your Samsung Galaxy Watch itself. First, press the \u201cPower Button\u201d to open the app gallery and then tap the \u201cSettings\u201d app (represented by a gear icon) from the list.<\/p>\n

Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the \u201cSettings\u201d menu and tap \u201cConnect to a New Phone.\u201d<\/p>\n

The next screen will ask you to back up your data. We highly recommend doing this to make the transition as smooth as possible. Tap \u201cBack Up Data.\u201d<\/p>\n

This will launch the Galaxy Wearable app on your old phone and open the backup settings. Select \u201cBack Up Data.\u201d<\/p>\n

After it\u2019s done \u201cPreparing,\u201d you\u2019ll see a list of things you can back up. Select all the categories you\u2019d like to save and then tap \u201cBack Up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tap \u201cDone\u201d when it\u2019s complete. Now go back to your watch and navigate to the \u201cConnect to a New Phone\u201d screen again. This time, tap \u201cContinue.\u201d Everything on the device will be deleted.<\/p>\n

After the watch has finished resetting, it will reboot. We can now switch over to your new smartphone. Open the Galaxy Wearable app<\/a> and select your device from the list.<\/p>\n

It will scan for your smartwatch nearby. Select your watch from the list when it appears.<\/p>\n

Next, tap the screen to connect to your watch, and tap \u201cPair\u201d from the Wearable app.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll see a \u201cFinishing Pairing\u201d animation on the Wearable app. It will say \u201cWatch Paired\u201d when complete. Tap \u201cAgree\u201d to continue.<\/p>\n

The next step is to link the appropriate plugin for your specific watch. Tap \u201cOK\u201d on the pop-up message to proceed.<\/p>\n

Select any of the options shown on this screen, or tap \u201cSkip.\u201d If you made selections, tap \u201cNext.\u201d<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll be asked to sign in to your Samsung account. You need to do this to access the backup we made earlier. Tap \u201cSign In.\u201d<\/p>\n

Follow the steps to enter your username and password.<\/p>\n

The app will now ask if you\u2019d like to restore from a backup. Select \u201cCheck For Backup\u201d and then tap \u201cNext.\u201d<\/p>\n

Select all the things you want to restore and tap the \u201cRestore\u201d button.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s it! Your watch will now be restored to how it was with your old phone. There may be a few odds and ends to correct, but the majority of things will be how you left them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
