His comments come even as the bank he runs launched its own digital asset,\u00a0JPM Coin, to help facilitate interbank payments.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, billionaire hedge-fund maestro\u00a0Ray Dalio challenged <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a>\u00a0to disabuse him of his main criticisms of the crypto: namely, that it is poor as a medium of exchange, and also too volatile as a store of value.<\/p>\n<div id=\"cx-membership-tile\"><\/div>\n<p>That said, proponents of the asset are aplenty.<\/p>\n<p>ARK Investment Management CEO Catherine\u00a0Wood told\u00a0Barron\u2019s\u00a0last Thursday\u00a0that bitcoin could hit $500,000, noting that the digital currency is \u201cthe equivalent to the dollar in the fiat currency system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s a pretty exalted role.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin\u2019s rally this year, coming almost three years since its last record, differs from its 2017 run in as much as fanatics of the asset <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear less fervent in their enthusiasm for digital coins, even as bitcoins boast a stunning year-to-date return compared against traditional assets.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, bitcoins are up nearly 170% so far in 2020, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average\u00a0DJIA,\u00a01.10%\u00a0\u00a0is up 3.7% so far this year, the S&amp;P 500 index\u00a0SPX,\u00a00.71%\u00a0has gained 10.7% over the same period and the Nasdaq Composite Index\u00a0COMP,\u00a00.12%\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0has advanced 32% in the year to date.
