{"id":119377,"date":"2020-11-24T21:30:13","date_gmt":"2020-11-24T18:30:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/twitter-will-now-warn-users-who-try-to-like-a-misleading-tweet\/"},"modified":"2020-11-24T21:30:13","modified_gmt":"2020-11-24T18:30:13","slug":"twitter-will-now-warn-users-who-try-to-like-a-misleading-tweet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/twitter-will-now-warn-users-who-try-to-like-a-misleading-tweet\/","title":{"rendered":"#Twitter will now warn users who try to like a &#8216;misleading&#8217; tweet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> will now warn users who try to like a &#8216;misleading&#8217; tweet<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/11\/Twitter-logo-on-phone.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n                        Twitter is doubling down on stopping the spread of misinformation following the US Presidential election, adding even more hurdles to stop misleading tweets from going viral.<\/p>\n<p>The social network <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TwitterSupport\/status\/1331018136712261632\">said Tuesday<\/a> that it would begin taking users who attempt to hit the like button on a flagged tweet to a screen informing them that the contents of the tweet are disputed.<\/p>\n<p>The expanded restrictions come after Twitter reported that its previous decision to add \u201cfriction\u201d to the retweet process led to a 29 percent decrease in the spread of misleading information.<\/p>\n<p>The change will be <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lied to a tweet labeled as \u201cmisleading under [Twitter\u2019s] election, COVID-19, and synthetic and manipulated media rules.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Currently, users who attempted to retweet a tweet that has been flagged with a misinformation label by Twitter\u00a0receive a full-screen alert telling them that it contains disputed information, as well as a link to additional information on the topic.<\/p>\n<p>In the lead-up to the election, Twitter limited the spread of viral tweets by temporarily suspending features meant to generate more engagement on the platform, including preventing \u201cliked by\u201d and \u201cfollowed by\u201d recommendations from popping up on users\u2019 feeds.<\/p>\n<p>The new measures arrive a week after CEO Jack Dorsey conceded that his company\u00a0made \u201ca mistake\u201d in locking The Post\u2019s Twitter account and restricting the spread of its reporting on Hunter Biden\u2019s overseas business dealings.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter at the time prevented users from sharing any links to The Post\u2019s reporting, before quickly backtracking after receiving intense backlash.<\/p>\n<p>Dorsey made the near mea culpa during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in which he and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg were grilled over their companies\u2019 outsize influence and perceived anti-conservative bias.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe recognize it as a mistake that we made, both in terms of the intention of the policy and also the enforcement action of not allowing people to share it publicly or privately,\u201d Dorsey said during a, Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter shares were up 0.6 percent Tuesday afternoon, trading at $45.20.\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
