Hey kids, remember\u00a0Solo: A Star Wars Story<\/em><\/strong>? It was the film that effectively killed off the\u00a0Star Wars\u00a0<\/em>anthology films because it didn\u2019t blow up at the box office. But the Ron Howard<\/strong>-directed flick really isn\u2019t as bad as its reputation suggests, and if you\u2019re a fan of the film \u2013 and the film\u2019s score, by John Powell<\/strong> \u2013 here\u2019s some good news<\/a>: Mondo<\/strong> is releasing a\u00a0Solo<\/em> vinyl soundtrack.<\/p>\n

\nI know\u00a0Solo: A Star Wars Story<\/em> has a bad reputation. The film was plagued with problems before it even hit theaters, generating plenty of negative press when original directors\u00a0Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were fired and replaced with Ron Howard. When the movie finally made its way to theaters it was met with so-so reviews, but it ended up being considered a box office disapp<\/a>ointment \u2013 it grossed $393.2 million worldwide, which really isn\u2019t that bad, but it\u2019s\u00a0also<\/em>\u00a0the lowest-grossing live-action film in the franchise, so there\u2019s that.<\/p>\n

I think time will be kind to\u00a0Solo<\/em>. It\u2019s an entertaining ride, and it has some great elements. One of those great elements was John Powell\u2019s score, which is now getting the vinyl treatment from Mondo. Mondo<\/a> will put the\u00a0Solo<\/em> vinyl soundtrack up for sale on December 2, in the form of a\u00a0limited-edition two-disc vinyl release featuring new artwork by C\u00e9sar Moreno and pressed on 2x 180 Gram \u201cHyper Space\u201d color vinyl. The soundtrack also features\u00a0John Williams<\/strong>\u2018 new \u201cThe Adventures of Han Theme.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe music of Star Wars<\/em> is so essential and monumental that it seems an impossible task for any new composer to take the reins,\u201d said Mo Shafeek, Mondo Creative Director of Music. \u201cBut John Powell\u2019s original score, complimented by John Williams\u2019 new Han Solo theme, is such non-stop bombastic nostalgic fun that it proves to be essential listening for fans of the series<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n
