“#How to Mute Fleets on Twitter<\/a>”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Twitter\u2019s take on \u201cstories,\u201d which is called Fleets, allows you to post disapp<\/a>earing media and text. But if you find stories out of place on Twitter, or simply don\u2019t want people you follow to appear on top of your feed, you can mute them.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, at the moment, there\u2019s no central kill switch that will let you get rid of Fleets altogether on Twitter. Your only option is to manually mute Fleets from individual accounts one by one.<\/p>\n

To do so, open Twitter on your iPhone<\/a>, iPad<\/a>, or Android device<\/a>. Scroll to the top of the Home tab to view the Fleets of those you follow.<\/p>\n

You can only mute a Fleet from someone who has recently posted one. So, you can only hide Fleets from any avatar bubble in the row of thumbnails at the top of your Twitter feed.<\/p>\n

To mute a Fleet, tap and hold a profile\u2019s Fleet bubble to reveal the hidden settings. Tap \u201cMute @(Twitter account),\u201d where \u201cTwitter account\u201d is the person\u2019s Twitter handle.<\/p>\n

\"Mute<\/p>\n

Tap \u201cMute Fleets\u201d to hide this account\u2019s existing and future Fleets, or \u201cMute Fleets and Tweets\u201d to hide that person\u2019s tweets, as well.<\/p>\n

\"Mute<\/p>\n

Twitter will indefinitely mute Fleets from this profile, and they\u2019ll no longer appear in your feed. The same as when you mute tweets, Twitter won\u2019t notify someone when you mute their Fleets.<\/p>\n

To unmute someone, visit their Twitter profile page, and then tap \u201cUnmute\u201d next to the \u201cYou Have Muted Fleets From This Account\u201d message.<\/p>\n

Twitter doesn\u2019t remove the row reserved for Fleets, even if you mute them from all the accounts you follow, so, unfortunately, it will continue to take up space in your feed.<\/p>\n
