\n Is it fame going to Gov. Cuomo\u2019s head?<\/p>\n

We\u2019re not even sure he realizes how many New Yorkers rolled their eyes at news<\/a> that he\u2019d won an Emmy for, in the words of the International Academy of Television Arts & Science<\/a>s, \u201ceffective use of television during the pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yep, Hollywood loves him, and not just for the Empire State\u2019s most-generous-in-the-nation subsidies for the entertainment industry: The glitterati also see him as an excellent counter to President Trump.<\/p>\n

And never mind the coming combined $63 billion deficits, nor the thousands of nursing-home residents dead after his order made it impossible to keep the coronavirus out.<\/p>\n

Clearly, it matters more that a bevy of celebrities \u2014 Robert De Niro, Spike Lee, Rosie Perez, Billy Crystal, Billy Joel \u2014 fawned all over him in a montage tribute, hailing him as \u201cthe nation\u2019s governor\u201d and \u201cthe epitome of New York tough.\u201d<\/p>\n

If \u201ctough\u201d looks like blaming Trump and drugmakers Pfizer and Moderna for being too fast in coming up with coronavirus vaccines, as Cuomo did last week \u2014 fine, award him an Emmy.<\/p>\n

Not that this gov needs his vanity fed. This is a guy who wrote a book<\/a> about his own magnificent leadership during the pandemic \u2014 even as the virus still rages.<\/p>\n

The latest sign he\u2019s lost any real common touch came Monday, when Cuomo mentioned that his 89-year-old mother, Matilda, and two of his daughters would join him up in Albany for Thanksgiving. This, when he\u2019s been urging everyone else not to travel<\/a> or gather for the holiday. The screams of disbelief and fury prompted the gov to change his plans, but wow.<\/p>\n

Worst of all, The Cuomo Show isn\u2019t close to being done, and likely won\u2019t be until he signs a deal with E! to replace \u201cKeeping Up With the Kardashians.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
