\n The widow of one of Prince Charles\u2019 friends says she\u2019s upset her husband\u2019s death was dramatized on the fourth season of the hit Netflix series<\/a> \u201cThe Crown.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 1988, Major Hugh Lindsay \u2014 a former British officer who served Queen Elizabeth \u2014 was on a skiing trip<\/a> with Prince Charles in the Klosters, Switzerland, when tragedy struck.<\/p>\n

Episode 9 of \u201cThe Crown\u201d shows an avalanche snowballing down a mountain but doesn\u2019t show anyone being trapp<\/a>ed or killed. A few moments later, the audience learns Charles survived, but Lindsay did not.<\/p>\n

Widow Sarah Horsley was mortified when she learned Netflix was referencing her husband\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was horrified when I was told [the episode] was happening and was very concerned about the impact on my daughter,\u201d she told Britain\u2019s The Sunday Telegraph<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m very upset by it and I\u2019m dreading people seeing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later in the episode, viewers can see a coffin returning to the U.K. from Switzerland and the funeral showing Lindsay\u2019s widow \u2014 being portrayed by actress Alana Ramsey \u2014 in tears.<\/p>\n

Horsley asked producers not to use her husband\u2019s death in the show.<\/p>\n

Instead, she said they wrote her a letter saying \u201cthey understood my concerns but they hope I will feel that they deal with difficult subject matters with integrity and great sensitivity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI suppose members of the royal family have to grin and bear it, but for me it\u2019s a very private tragedy,\u201d Horsley told the Telegraph. \u201cI think it\u2019s very unkind to many members of the family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Netflix has not publicly commented on the matter.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
