“#Kelly Clarkson Hints At Reason For Her Divorce In Meaningful Monologue

\nKelly Clarkson<\/strong> has said she won\u2019t be \u201ctruly open\u201d about her divorce for the sake of her children with Brandon Blackstock<\/strong>. But that still leaves room to drop a hint here and there\u2026<\/p>\n

We have some idea of the struggle this split has caused for the Breakaway<\/em> singer \u2014 that she didn\u2019t see it coming, and it led to an unfortunate legal battle with her father-in-law. On Tuesday, Kelly gave a bit more insight into her mindset about the breakup in a segment for her talk show.<\/p>\n

In the clip, the American Idol<\/em> winner reflected on 2020 (a year she described as a \u201cdumpster fire\u201c) by \u201cfinishing up phrases of gratitude.\u201d In response to the prompt, \u201cI\u2019m grateful in 2020 for the lesson I learned about\u2026,\u201d Kelly revealed her most valuable lesson was learning about herself.<\/p>\n

She began:<\/p>\n

\u201cEven at 38, I feel like I\u2019m always changing and progressing in a good sense, in a good way. And I always want to make sure I\u2019m being the best version of myself.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The mother of two continued:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think you are that thing that my mom\u2019s been telling me since I was a kid: You are who you surround yourself with. You want to make sure you\u2019re surrounded by people that also want to be the best versions of themselves and also want a good common goal for everyone, not just themselves, right?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Hmmm\u2026<\/p>\n

Could this be the reason for her divorce? She didn\u2019t feel like her husband was striving to be the best version of himself? There\u2019s also a suggestion of selfishness there, if Brandon wasn\u2019t pursuing a \u201cgood common goal for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly elaborated:<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know, it\u2019s been a really good lesson to learn that people, like, could be bad for you in a certain time. And I think that everybody just goes, \u2018Oh, well that means they\u2019re bad.\u2019 Well it doesn\u2019t necessarily mean that, it just means like, you\u2019re on different paths. And I think that that\u2019s okay. Everybody\u2019s on a different learning curve, and everybody\u2019s learning something different at different times. So, anyway, I think I learned that lesson.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Ultimately, this seems like a pretty mature viewpoint \u2014 and it\u2019s safe to say Kelly and her former manager-slash-husband-slash-producer are definitely on different paths now.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, The Voice<\/em> judge commented on the division in the US in 2020, but her remarks about the new year seemed to ring true for her personal life, too. She said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just happ<\/a>y we\u2019re moving on, and everybody can move on, and \u2014 let\u2019s figure stuff out. I think everybody\u2019s felt so suppressed. \u2026 I\u2019m very excited about 2021. I\u2019m not fearful of it at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
