\n The Grammys versus Weeknd drama is far from \u201cover now.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his latest tweet lashing out at the Recording Academy, the singer is not backing down over being snubbed in Grammy nominations.<\/p>\n

\u201cCollaboratively planning a performance for weeks to not being invited? In my opinion zero nominations = you\u2019re not invited!\u201d The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, tweeted on Wednesday<\/a>. The tweet has racked up more than 105,000 likes as of Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou deserve a nomination more than Taylor,\u201d reads one of the most upvoted replies<\/a>. \u201cShe did nothing exceptional this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

The angry post, in which the 30-year-old equates receiving no Grammy nominations to not being invited to the virtual event, follows his Tuesday accusation that the coveted music industry awards \u201cremain corrupt\u201d and \u201cowe me, my fans and the industry transparency.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite his album \u201cAfter Hours\u201d having two number one hits \u2014 \u201cHeartless\u201d and \u201cBlinding Lights\u201d \u2014 The Weeknd, who is a three-time Grammy winner, was not nominated in any category this year, it was revealed after the nominations were announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Recording Academy interim chief Harvey Mason Jr. told Variety<\/a> that the omission wasn\u2019t intentional, and who gets nominated \u201creally just comes down to the voting body that decides. We have eight nomination slots to fill in, five in others, and the voters vote for their favorites. It\u2019s really interesting, though.\u201d<\/p>\n

As to whether The Weeknd wasn\u2019t nominated because the voting body couldn\u2019t determine if the singer\u2019s music should be categorized as pop or R&B, Mason responded that the committee will revise the process in the future \u2014 but not in response to the controversy with The Weeknd. \u201cWe look at it every year and make tweaks and revisions to the process; we did it this year, last year, we\u2019ll do it next year. And I don\u2019t think this calls it into question, honestly,\u201d he said. \u201cThe process is there so we can continue to monitor excellence.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
