{"id":120592,"date":"2020-11-25T18:09:03","date_gmt":"2020-11-25T15:09:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/twitter-will-reopen-applications-for-blue-checkmark-verifications-next-year\/"},"modified":"2020-11-25T18:09:03","modified_gmt":"2020-11-25T15:09:03","slug":"twitter-will-reopen-applications-for-blue-checkmark-verifications-next-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/twitter-will-reopen-applications-for-blue-checkmark-verifications-next-year\/","title":{"rendered":"#Twitter will reopen applications for blue checkmark verifications next year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> will reopen <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lications for blue checkmark verifications next year<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/11\/Twitter-Verification.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n                        Twitter said it will reopen applications for its famous blue checkmark verification process early next year after a more than three-year hiatus.<\/p>\n<p>The bright blue badge is Twitter\u2019s way of showing that accounts belonging to public figures have been verified to be real and not impostors, but the program was suspended in 2017 following confusion over how Twitter decides who gets the badge.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.twitter.com\/en_us\/topics\/company\/2020\/help-us-shape-our-new-approach-to-verification.html\">blog post<\/a>, Twitter said it would be workshopping the application process, and is looking for public feedback on how its new policy will work.<\/p>\n<p>Though it suspended the program in 2017, Twitter has continued to verify accounts, including medical experts and elected officials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince [suspending the program], we haven\u2019t been clear about who can become verified and when, why an account might be unverified, or what it means to be verified,\u201d Twitter said in its post.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/help.twitter.com\/en\/managing-your-account\/about-twitter-verified-accounts\">core types<\/a>\u201d of notable accounts Twitter will verify include government officials, entertainers, journalists and athletes.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter said it also may verify accounts that meet other standards such as being one of the top-followed accounts in the user\u2019s country and having \u201coff-Twitter notability,\u201d which could be assessed through Google search trends, Wikipedia references or coverage in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> outlets.<\/p>\n<p>The company said it may cut the blue badge from accounts that severely or repeatedly violate rules, such as its policies on hateful conduct, civic integrity or glorification of violence. But it said these removals would not be automatic and would be assessed case by case.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter will also roll out a list of infractions that could see an applicant\u2019s request for verification rejected, such as if the account has been associated with hateful content or with a group found to have committed \u201cgross human rights violations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Twitter aims to introduce the final policy on Dec. 17.
