\n The owner of a Manhattan plant store claims a cat-sitter won\u2019t return his kitty \u2014 the star attraction of his shop \u2014 after she offered to take care of it while his business temporarily closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, new court papers show.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe stole my cat,\u201d said Zivadin \u201cChris\u201d Krstic the owner of Chelsea shop Chris King of Foliage. \u201cShe doesn\u2019t want to return it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Krstic \u2014 who describes himself as a one-time Yugoslavian boxing champion and former model who app<\/a>eared in spaghetti westerns in the 70s \u2014 alleges Amanda Walker requested to watch Sammy the cat while his emporium was closed from March to May, according to his Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit.<\/p>\n

Walker had been stopping by the store weekly just to see Sammy, who lived at the store, for years and she had even \u201casked to adopt or purchase Sammy\u201d from him \u2014 but the offer \u201cwas repeatedly rejected,\u201d the court papers, filed Wednesday, claim.<\/p>\n

On March 21, Walker sent a text to an employee who was taking care of the cat while Krstic, 79, was stuck in Florida at his other home as he was advised by his doctors not to travel<\/a>, the court papers say.<\/p>\n

\u201cHi! This is Amanda, Sammy\u2019s friend,\u201d Walker wrote in the text, according to the court documents. \u201cPlease let me know if I can help take care of Sammy! I love him! Hope you are safe and well.\u201d<\/p>\n

So Krstic allowed Walker to take care of Sammy while the store was temporarily closed. And after the store reopened Walker kept asking \u201cto keep Sammy for a few extra days,\u201d the suit says.<\/p>\n

Soon after, the Kips Bay woman \u201cbegan purposefully avoiding plaintiffs and refusing to answer calls and messages from them,\u201d the court papers allege.<\/p>\n

Walker even threatened to get a restraining order as Krstic persistently tried to get his cat back, the court documents say.<\/p>\n

\u201cI kept calling her begging her to give me my cat back,\u201d Krstic told The Post.<\/p>\n

Krstic says he\u2019s distraught. He had Sammy for four years at the store since he was a kitten, and the fur-ball has been a huge draw for customers ever since, the court papers say.<\/p>\n

\u201cYoung kids love my cat. They come to see me and I let them go to say hello to Sammy,\u201d Krstic said.<\/p>\n

Krstic recalled Walker saying, \u201c\u2018I don\u2019t have a boyfriend. He\u2019s good company and you don\u2019t clean his teeth.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cat is perfectly healthy. I take care of him like my own children. It\u2019s very sad. I can do nothing. My cat is like part of me,\u201d Krstic lamented.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is hiding. I tried the nice way and then finally I say \u2026 we have to go to the court and let the court decide,\u201d Krstic said.<\/p>\n

Krstic\u2019s lawyer, Robert Hantman, told The Post that if Walker \u201cwas lonely, match.com is the answer rather than catnapping Sammy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Krstic is asking a judge to order Walker to return his cat. He is also seeking other unspecified damages.<\/p>\n

Walker did not immedia<\/a>tely return a request for comment.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
