The annual SantaCon pub crawl has been canceled this year in the Big App<\/a>le due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Organizers announced the news<\/a> on the event\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of the reindeer got the \u2018rona, so the elves have advised Santa to hold off on the in-person merriment,\u201d the message read.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no SantaCon NYC this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Originating in San Francisco, SantaCon first came to New York City in 1998. Since then, masses of revelers dressed as Saint Nick have flooded Manhattan and Brooklyn \u2014 and their bars \u2014 for one Saturday in December.<\/p>\n

The event is billed as a charitable Santa Claus convention. But it\u2019s usually marred by rowdy drunks and despised by locals.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
