\n A slew of spectators watching the Macy\u2019s Thanksgiving Day Parade from home didn\u2019t seem to have much to be grateful for this year.<\/p>\n

Keyboard critics roasted the NBC broadcast, including various acts, lip-syncing performers and everything from the Rockettes not doing their legendary kicks to some unusual balloons.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe broadcast is absolute garbage. I guess it\u2019s to be expected in 2020,\u201d griped one <\/a>viewer on Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Some were angered by the coronavirus restrictions that curtailed the annual event, noting their displeasure at seeing performers wearing masks.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese performers waving on these floats as if they have a physical audience is why I have trust issues. Who are you waving to?\u201d one person wondered<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When it came to the acts, a rendition from the cast of the Broadway musical \u201cJagged Little Pill,\u201d based on Alanis Morissette\u2019s 1995 album, app<\/a>eared to hit all the wrong notes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a lot of thoughts about Jagged Little Pill. None of them are good,\u201d one user wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Another person argued<\/a> that \u201cthe \u2018Jagged Little Pill\u2019 musical is like adding raisins to potato salad or not seasoning your chicken.\u201d<\/p>\n

Several people weren\u2019t pleased with a performance by a cappella group Pentatonix, either.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have information that can lead to the arrest of Pentatonix,\u201d one person quipped<\/a>, prompting another user to joke<\/a> \u201cThe only thing that unites the internet every holiday season is the mutual hate for Pentatonix.\u201d<\/p>\n

General<\/a>ly, folks weren\u2019t fans of the lip-syncing, with one person saying that<\/a>: \u201cNot sure the lip sync could get any worse ??\u203c\ufe0f But alas \u2026. it\u2019s a nice diversion on a very lonely day ??\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFew things in life make me more uncomfortable than watching the overly-enthusiastic lip sync performances during the #MacysThanksgivingDayParade,\u201d another said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When it came to the legendary Rockettes, viewers were disappointed not to see them perform their classic kicking line, which was reportedly scrapped due to the social distancing measures.<\/p>\n

\u201cLeave it to the 2020 Macy\u2019s Thanksgiving Day Parade to have the world famous kicking line of the @Rockettes, not kick during their performance,\u201d wrote one user<\/a> on Twitter.<\/p>\n

Finally, a lot of spectators seemed confused about the appearance of a polka-dot clown balloon by contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama, which was grounded during last year\u2019s parade due to high winds.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first female artist designed balloon they say,\u201d wrote one user<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cthis is the 94th macy\u2019s thanksgiving day parade and they have their FIRST ever female designed balloon???? good god,\u201d another person said<\/a>, echoing the concerns of several others on Twitter.<\/p>\n

Kusama is the first woman to enter a balloon for the parade\u2019s Blue Sky Gallery series<\/a>, which has included artists such as Jeff Koons, Keith Haring and Tim Burton in the past.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
