The 30-year bond yield<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD30Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">1.576%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       slipped 4.5 basis points to 1.576%.<\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Whats_driving_Treasurys\"><\/span>What\u2019s driving Treasurys?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>U.S. Treasury yields followed their European counterparts lower, after <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> that French and German officials are keep lockdown measures in place beyond their original expiration date.<\/p>\n<p>German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the country\u2019s lockdown would be extended to Dec. 20 while the U.K. government also announced that\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fnlondon.com\/articles\/city-and-all-london-boroughs-to-move-into-tier-2-after-lockdown-ends-on-2-december-20201126\" class=\"icon none\">London would return to tougher restrictions<\/a>\u00a0once the national lockdown is lifted on Dec. 2. <\/p>\n<p>The 10-year German government bond yield<br \/>\n        TMBMKDE-10Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">-0.584%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       ended at negative 0.59%, around a three-week low.<\/p>\n<p>The bullish trading in bonds also may have been driven by investors buying longer-dated bonds to maintain the maturities of their overall portfolios before the end of the month.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, investors are eyeing the prospect of the Federal Reserve acting in December. Analysts say a weakening of economic data could force the central bank\u2019s hand and shift its bond purchases toward longer-dated maturities, even as minutes from the November meeting suggest the central bank was leaning toward no action.<\/p>\n<p><strong>See<\/strong>:  European stocks pause and U.S. futures rise despite lockdown extensions and AstraZeneca vaccine concerns<\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_did_market_participants_say\"><\/span>What did market participants say?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>\u201cThe FOMC discussed updating guidance on asset purchases \u201cfairly soon\u201d at the last meeting but saw no need for \u201cim<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>te\u201d adjustments.
