Once you\u2019ve reached Route 2, you can begin trading with your friends (or random players) via Y-Comm.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Trade_Pokemon_with_Friends\"><\/span>How to Trade Pok\u00e9mon with Friends<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are over 400 Pok\u00e9mon in the Galar Pok\u00e9dex. If you want to catch them all, though, you might need a little help. That\u2019s where Pok\u00e9mon trading comes in.\u00a0Some Pok\u00e9mon will only change their forms once you\u2019ve traded them to someone else.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, you\u2019ll then\u00a0have to get them to trade it back if you want that creature in your Pok\u00e9dex. For example, the Pok\u00e9mon \u201cPumpkaboo\u201d will evolve into\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.serebii.net\/pokedex-xy\/711.shtml\">Gourgeist<\/a>, a trade-based evolution.<\/p>\n<p>Traded Pok\u00e9mon also gain experience points in battle faster, but you can\u2019t change a traded Pok\u00e9mon\u2019s nickname if you received it via trade.<\/p>\n<p>You have two options when trading with your friends in <em>Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield: <\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can trade locally with those who are physically nearby<\/li>\n<li>You can trade Pok\u00e9mon online with those who are farther away. To do so, open <em>Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield<\/em>, and then press the Y button on your right Joy-Con controller to open Y-Comm. After you\u2019ve set an eight-digit code, close the menu and wait to be connected.\u00a0Setting a code will often connect partners faster, but this is unnecessary if only you and your trade partner are trading nearby.<\/p>\n<p>The eight-digit code you choose doesn\u2019t matter\u2014it can be entirely random. Be sure to share the code with your friend to start the trading process! If you want to cancel the trade, you can do so at any time by selecting another option from the Y-Comm menu.<\/p>\n<p>Once the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> matches you, the trade will commence. A window will appear for you to choose which Pok\u00e9mon to send, and you\u2019ll also see the Pok\u00e9mon your friend is sending you. You can view its stats, as well as those of your traded Pok\u00e9mon before confirming the selection.<\/p>\n<p>When you\u2019re ready, select \u201cTrade it\u201d from the menu to begin the trading process. Again, you can\u00a0cancel a trade at any time by selecting another option from the Y-Comm menu.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Surprise_Trades_in_Pokemon_Sword_and_Shield\"><\/span>Surprise Trades in <em>Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can trade with your friends to expand your Pok\u00e9dex, but there\u2019s another trade option in the game called \u201cSurprise Trades.\u201d These unique trades are a feature of Y-Comm.<\/p>\n<p>You can choose any Pok\u00e9mon from any box and put it up for trade. A random partner will be chosen, the trade will occur, and you\u2019ll end up with a random Pok\u00e9mon.\u00a0Surprise trades also work locally.<\/p>\n<p>To start a Surprise Trade in <em>Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield<\/em>, you\u2019ll need a subscription to Nintendo Online and an internet connection. Press Y in-game to open the Y-Comm menu. If you don\u2019t already own that Pok\u00e9mon, its information will be filled in on your Pok\u00e9dex.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Additional_Trade_Options_in_Pokemon_Home\"><\/span>Additional Trade Options in Pok\u00e9mon Home<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re on the go and don\u2019t have your Nintendo Switch, you can trade in the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/home.pokemon.com\/en-us\/\">Pok\u00e9mon Home<\/a> mobile app as long as your accounts are connected and you have an internet connection. Pok\u00e9mon Home is available for download on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/pok%C3%A9mon-home\/id1485352913\">Apple\u2019s App Store<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=jp.pokemon.pokemonhome\">Google Play<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s look at the four types of trading you can do in Pok\u00e9mon Home.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Wonder_Box_Trades\"><\/span>Wonder Box Trades<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This method is similar to the Surprise Box option in the\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield<\/em> Y-Comm menu. You choose a Pok\u00e9mon you want to trade and place it in your Wonder Box. You\u2019ll see a list of the different trade features.\u00a0Select \u201cWonder Box,\u201d and then tap the plus sign (+) to go to your Pok\u00e9mon Home Wonder Box.<\/p>\n<p>There, tap the Pok\u00e9mon you want to place in the Wonder Box, and then tap the green back button at the bottom. You\u2019ll be notified when these Pok\u00e9mon are traded.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Global_Trading_System\"><\/span>Global Trading System<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Global Trading System (GTS) should be your choice if you want to trade with others worldwide to get a specific Pok\u00e9mon. Choose the Pok\u00e9mon you want to trade and the one you want to receive, and then wait.<\/p>\n<p>Another player will eventually come along and trade you the Pok\u00e9mon you want.
