{"id":122436,"date":"2020-11-29T11:55:20","date_gmt":"2020-11-29T08:55:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/david-prowse-dead-at-85\/"},"modified":"2020-11-29T11:55:20","modified_gmt":"2020-11-29T08:55:20","slug":"david-prowse-dead-at-85","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/david-prowse-dead-at-85\/","title":{"rendered":"#David Prowse dead at 85"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#David Prowse dead at 85<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/11\/David_Prowse.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n                        David Prowse, the former body-builder who played Darth Vadar in the original <em>Star Wars<\/em> trilogy, is dead at the age of 85.<\/p>\n<p>The English-born actor died early Sunday, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BowingtonM\/status\/1332929745793789952\">according to his management company<\/a>, Bowington Management.<\/p>\n<p>Prowse was best know for his physical portrayal of the villain voiced by James Earl Jones.<\/p>\n<p>But he played other iconic roles, including Frankenstein\u2019s monster and the bodyguard Julian in \u201c<em>A Clockwork Orange<\/em>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMay the force be with him, always,\u201d said his agent, Thomas Bowington.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThough famous for playing many monsters \u2013 for myself, and all who knew Dave and worked with him, he was a hero in our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prowse said <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=amAmUYp2Apk\">in a 2016 interview<\/a> that George Lucas had offered him a choice of portraying Chewbacca or Darth Vader.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a character called Chewbacca, which is like a huge teddy bear, or alternatively, there\u2019s the main villain in the piece,\u201d he said the director told him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, there\u2019s no choice, is there?\u201d Prowse quipped.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas later banned Prowse from <em>Star Wars<\/em> events after wrongly accusing him of leaking Vader\u2019s fate in \u201c<em>Return of the Jedi<\/em>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNobody will ever forget Darth Vader,\u201d Prowse said <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rockcellarmagazine.com\/2012\/10\/01\/the-man-behind-darth-vader\/\">in a 2017 interview.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it is a great honor for me to have played the ultimate screen villain of all time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is unknown if his death was linked to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
