Anyone see Huck go into the vents? Okay, \u201cAmong Us\u201d jokes aside, episode 9 of this season&#8217;s The Walking Dead: World Beyond picks up where last week\u2019s surprising (or maybe not-so-surprising, depending on what you\u2019d predicted) cliffhanger left off.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, Lt. Col Kublek (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/tvinsider.com\/people\/julia-ormand\">Julia Ormond<\/a>) is Huck\u2019s mom, and yes, Huck is with CRM. She\u2019s been tasked with bringing in \u201cthe asset,\u201d one of the Bennett sisters, by any means necessary \u2014 even if it means the deaths of the rest of the squad. Meanwhile, Elton (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/tvinsider.com\/people\/nicolas-cantu\">Nicolas Cantu<\/a>) has an unexpected reunion with a former group member.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hopes_Huge_Choice\"><\/span>Hope\u2019s Huge Choice<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>When we catch back up with the group, everybody\u2019s shivering on a cold night after the car got a flat tire (thanks to CRM double agent Huck, who drove right into some sharp debris). They get out and start walking, but soon they\u2019re surrounded by walkers on all sides that have gotten caught in a barbed wire fence. (How did no one hear those walkers? Where is the fence from? Don\u2019t think about it too hard \u2014 you won\u2019t get an answer.)<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_967103\" style=\"width: 865px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-967103\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-967103\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/TWD-world-beyond-col-kublek-1-1-855x570.jpg\" alt=\"walking dead world beyond julia ormond lt col kublek\" width=\"855\" height=\"570\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/TWD-world-beyond-col-kublek-1-1-855x570.jpg 855w, https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/TWD-world-beyond-col-kublek-1-1-434x289.jpg 434w, https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/TWD-world-beyond-col-kublek-1-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/TWD-world-beyond-col-kublek-1-1-234x155.jpg 234w, https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/TWD-world-beyond-col-kublek-1-1-570x380.jpg 570w, https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/TWD-world-beyond-col-kublek-1-1.jpg 2028w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 855px) 100vw, 855px\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-967103\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Zach Dilgard\/AMC<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>They manage to fight \u2018em off, but Felix&#8217;s (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/tvinsider.com\/people\/nico-totorella\">Nico Totorella<\/a>) ankle is injured badly enough that they can\u2019t proceed with the mission. Well, they can keep going, as Hope (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/tvinsider.com\/people\/alexa-mansour\">Alexa Mansour<\/a>) notes, and not take Felix, but Iris (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/tvinsider.com\/people\/aliyah-royale\">Aliyah Royale<\/a>) refuses to listen to that kind of talk. \u201cSometimes I wish I had a map to figure you out,\u201d she tells her sister. Everybody looks for supplies to fix the truck and\/or Felix, and they look in every room except for one Huck says is filled with dead bodies. Yeah, that\u2019s not suspicious at all.<\/p>\n<p>Conclusions are reached: Felix wants the group to continue on without him, and he tells them as much. Iris still refuses to leave him and it seems they\u2019ll all remain with Felix. But, in the middle of the night, Hope goes up to Huck and asks her to leave with her. She\u2019s serious about finding her dad, and she knows Felix will slow them down. (Oh, Iris has already pegged Huck for a traitor, a sentiment Hope doesn\u2019t seem to share). The duo head out on their own, leaving Iris and Felix to survive on their own.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Already_Dead%E2%80%A6\"><\/span>Already Dead&#8230;?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Meanwhile, Elton (Roger Dale Floyd) stumbles upon Percy (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/tvinsider.com\/people\/ted-sutherland\">Ted Sutherland<\/a>), who\u2019s in a bad way. Percy himself doesn\u2019t do much talking, but Elton\u2019s vivid hallucinations of him sure do. He guides Elton to discover he was shot, not stabbed with a huge wrench, so it seems doubtful Silas (Hal Cumpston) is guilty of anything other than being an angsty teenager who had to watch the girl he likes develop feelings for someone else.<\/p>\n<p>Elton makes Percy a poultice and drags him along \u2014 literally \u2014 for the journey, but hallucination-Percy just ain\u2019t feeling it. \u201cI\u2019m already dead,\u201d he tells Elton on several occasions, trying to get him to save himself. Elton won\u2019t abandon him, partially because he wants to be better than his mother and is having a hard time coping with the whole she-shot-Iris-and-Hope\u2019s-mom thing.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"An_Unpleasant_Realization\"><\/span>An Unpleasant Realization<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Well, predictably, Elton ends up surrounded by walkers with an unconscious Percy. Hallucination-Percy says, again, that he needs to let him go. Elton won\u2019t. He reaches Huck, who \u2014 surprise! \u2014 won\u2019t be coming back for him, as Percy awakens and tells Elton she\u2019s the one that shot him. Huck sends her transmission to CRM that she does, in fact, have \u201cthe asset.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, \u201cthe asset\u201d earlier cracked the CRM code the group found a few episodes ago and realized the organization said everyone besides her is expendable, and that Huck\u2019s in on it. She starts to pull out a gun, clearly intent on using it against Huck.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Other_Observations\"><\/span>Other Observations<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>CRM is starting to baffle me. They\u2019ll use resources (and not to mention risk their own people) to get to Hope, but they won\u2019t recognize potential \u201cassets\u201d in the larger campus community? I just can\u2019t fathom an organization that burns entire prosperous communities \u2014 and all the potential within them \u2014 to the ground, but stages an entire elaborate operation, with a gigantic risk of failure, around one girl.<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019ve said it before, I\u2019ll say it again. The dialogue just isn&#8217;t doing it for me.<\/li>\n<li>It was nice to see Felix\u2019s boyfriend, and learn he\u2019s still alive and no longer with CRM in the post-credits scene. Here\u2019s hoping for a h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>y reunion. But I\u2019m getting tired of all the flashbacks, all of which do more to slow the momentum of the story than they do to explain the characters.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rating: 2\/5<\/strong>. I\u2019d hoped <em>World Beyond<\/em> would start to pick up toward the end of its season, but this was a pretty slow episode.
