\n Beloved Brooklyn pizzeria Roberta\u2019s \u2014 which has hosted celebrities including Beyonc\u00e9 and the Clintons \u2014 was closed abruptly this week after workers contracted the coronavirus.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are sad to announce that Roberta\u2019s has had several employees that have tested positive for COVID-19,\u201d Roberta\u2019s wrote on Instagram<\/a> Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs such we have decided to temporarily close our Bushwick & Williamsburg operations to ensure the safety of our staff and guests while we implement our contact tracing protocols and begin anti-viral cleaning procedures.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Michelin-starred Bushwick hotspot was temporarily shuttered Wednesday after at least six employees fell ill, workers told Gothamist<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s still growing; it\u2019s TBD,\u201d one employee, who asked not to be named, told the outlet of infection numbers.<\/p>\n

Several takeout workers contracted COVID-19, prompting owners to halt business for testing and cleaning, according to the outlet. It wasn\u2019t clear if the workers were infected on the job.<\/p>\n

But pie pushers claimed they were left in the dark about testing \u2014 and when they can return to work.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they have money to be opening new restaurants I don\u2019t understand why they can\u2019t be putting any money into the current restaurant that people are actually working at,\u201d a second employee told Gothamist. \u201cThe frustration with everybody is that we feel very neglected. And not enough is being done.\u201d<\/p>\n

A rep for Roberta\u2019s told The Post Sunday that owners have not yet set a date to reopen.<\/p>\n

\u201cRoberta\u2019s has followed DOH and CDC strict safety measures during the course of this pandemic. We hope to reopen once we deem it safe for our employees to return to work. As of now, we do not have a confirmed set date,\u201d the rep said. <\/p>\n

During most of the coronavirus crisis, Roberta\u2019s has remained open for takeout, delivery and outdoor dining.<\/p>\n
