Ex-con Felicity Huffman has landed her first role following her involvement in the college admissions scandal.<\/p>\n

The \u201cDesperate Housewives\u201d alumna, who served just 11 days<\/a> of a two-week jail sentence last year, has signed on to star in an untitled ABC comedy inspired by the life of Susan Savage, owner of Trip<\/a>le-A baseball\u2019s Sacramento River Cats, according to Deadline<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The project will co-star Zack Gottsagen (\u201cThe Peanut Butter Falcon\u201d). The series<\/a> was reportedly pitched to Huffman by producer Aaron Kaplan, CEO of Kapital Entertainment, and will be written by Becky Hartman Edwards (\u201cThe Baker and the Beauty,\u201d \u201cThe Bold Type\u201d). Huffman, Kaplan (\u201cA Million Little Things\u201d) and Hartman Edwards will executive produce.<\/p>\n

Huffman, an Emmy winner and Oscar nominee (\u201cTransamerica\u201d), will play Savage, who in an unexpected move took over as majority River Cats owner following her husband Art Savage\u2019s death in November 2009. Gottsagen will play their son, who has Down syndrome and is himself a baseball fan, reported Deadline. The real-life team won the Triple-A national championship last year.<\/p>\n

If they need to fill out the show\u2019s roster, they may not have to look far for help. \u201cFull House\u201d actress Lori Loughlin is set to be released<\/a> from prison herself next month after serving a two-month sentence for her participation in the college admissions dustup.\n <\/div>\n
