\n Nxivm sex-cult leader Keith Raniere says he\u2019s as good as dead when he\u2019s\u00a0transferred to prison, according to a report.<\/p>\n

Raniere \u2014 who was sentenced to 120 years in prison last month for running the sex-slave cult \u2014 can be heard in recordings from this year talking about how dangerous being placed in the general<\/a> population of a maximum-security prison could be for him, according to recordings that Nxivm\u2019s former publicist, Frank Parlato, posted on his blog<\/a> the Frank Report.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, with these charges and if I\u2019m sentenced to life and go to a penitentiary, it is a death penalty,\u201d the outlet reported Raniere saying in recordings of messages to his followers.<\/p>\n

Raniere \u2014 who is being housed in Brooklyn\u2019s federal Metropolitan Detention Center, started expressing worry about his safety in March when he talked about a \u201cvicious\u201d man who, \u201ctold various people he would put as much money as necessary, literally hundreds of millions of dollars to have me put in jail for the rest of my life, to have me killed, to have me destroyed.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo have me, whatever\u2026 the worst thing you can imagine,\u201d the blog reported Raniere saying.<\/p>\n

Parlatto said there are rumors that members of the Latin Kings and the MS-13 gangs would kill Raniere if they got the chance \u2014 though it was unclear where those rumors were spreading or how he came to hear of them.<\/p>\n

Raneiere said in a recording last week, \u201cI can\u2019t think of anything else to say, but remember these things have to move quickly because, you know, I get designated soon \u2013 and then I\u2019ll be out of here. And that\u2019s a dangerous situation for me,\u201d the blog said.<\/p>\n

Raniere echoed that same sentiment in a recording from Nov. 21.<\/p>\n

Prior to his Oct. 27 sentencing, Raniere said in a recording from April, \u201cYeah, I\u2019m looking, you know, I\u2019ll be in here the rest of my life if we don\u2019t do something.<\/p>\n

Raniere previously requested to be placed in a protective unit because of his high-profile case in which he branded women and forced them to sleep with him.<\/p>\n

A judge has since declined to intervene directing Raniere\u2019s lawyers to take the issue up with the Bureau of Prisons.<\/p>\n

Raniere was convicted in June 2019 of sex trafficking, racketeering, child pornography and forced labor.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
