\n Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took a dig at Gov. Andrew Cuomo\u2019s coronavirus response \u2014 now that the Empire State is \u201cconsidering\u201d imposing a quarantine on visitors from the Sunshine State.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would just ask if that\u2019s done just please do not quarantine any Floridians in the nursing homes in New York,\u201d DeSantis quipped Saturday at a press conference in Tallahassee when asked about the potential travel<\/a> restrictions.<\/p>\n

Cuomo has faced criticism for virus-related deaths among the elderly population after health officials ordered nursing homes and rehabilitation centers admit to COVID-19 patients being discharged from hospitals.<\/p>\n

During the height of the Empire State\u2019s crisis, DeSantis said that New Yorkers fleeing to Florida were required to self-quarantine for two weeks when they arrived.<\/p>\n

But with the Sunshine State\u2019s case tally growing, the tables have now turned for the states.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Cuomo said a quarantine on travelers from Florida to New York was \u201csomething I\u2019m considering\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have experts who have advised me to do that. I\u2019m considering it now,\u201d Cuomo said at a press conference.<\/p>\n

Florida has recorded more than 93,000 COVID-19 total infections, while New York has seen at least 387,000, according to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
