\n Abby Dalton, an actress known for her work on \u201cFalcon Crest,\u201d died last week, reported Variety<\/a>. She was 88.<\/p>\n

Dalton starred on the show as Julia Cumson, the eldest daughter of the Channing family, who owned a popular vineyard. She started on the show in 1981 and was a cast member until 1986.<\/p>\n

After getting her start in the 1957 film \u201cRock All Night,\u201d Dalton went on to star in such movies<\/a> as 1958\u2019s \u201cGirls on the Loose\u201d and 1966\u2019s \u201cThe Plainsman\u201d as Calamity Jane.<\/p>\n

But TV was where the Emmy-nominated star made her mark, starring in Jackie Cooper\u2019s \u201cHennesey\u201d television series as Lt. Martha Hale, RN, which earned her an Emmy nomination in 1961. She also played the wife role on both \u201cThe Joey Bishop Show\u201d and \u201cThe Jonathan Winters Show.\u201d Dalton landed guest parts in several 1950s Western series including \u201cRawhide,\u201d \u201cMaverick,\u201d \u201cHave Gun \u2013 Will Travel<\/a>\u201d and \u201cThe Rifleman\u201d and later app<\/a>eared in game<\/a> shows including \u201cHollywood Squares,\u201d \u201cMatch Game\u201d and \u201cSuper Password.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dalton is survived by her husband, Jack D. Smith, and her children, grandchildren and great-grandson, according to Variety.<\/p>\n
