The firm will provide the infrastructure to support the EV charging stations, while the city will install and operate them.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Osgood, Boston\u2019s Chief of Streets, said \u201cIn addition to encouraging more people to walk, bike or take transit, an essential path to reaching carbon neutrality is switching from gas-powered to electric vehicles. This Zero-Emission Vehicle Roadmap identifies concrete steps we must take to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Roadmap furthers our commitments made in Go Boston 2030 and the Climate Action Plan Update, and it will help us provide more reliable and sustainable transportation options for our residents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In March 2017, Mayor Walsh launched<span>\u00a0<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.boston.gov\/departments\/transportation\/go-boston-2030\">Go Boston 2030<\/a>, a transport plan that set a goal of reducing the number of car <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a>s in the city by half through investing in safer streets and major upgrades to the city\u2019s transit system.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 58 projects listed under the plan, 21 are already in implementation, 17 are in design, and 20 have yet to be started.<\/p>\n<p>This week the city\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.boston.gov\/news\/construction-completed-key-healthy-streets-projects\">launched<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>a number of new buses and bike lanes through the scheme, which has been accelerated as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Transportation accounts for almost a third of Boston\u2019s total greenhouse gas emissions, with 65 percent coming from personal vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>In<span>\u00a0<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cities-today.com\/boston-seeks-partners-for-500000-urban-forest-plan\/\">October<\/a>, the city issued a\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.boston.gov\/node\/13666936\">request for proposals<\/a>\u00a0(RFP) to design its first \u2018urban forest\u2019 plan.
