Actor Elliot Page<\/a>, who plays a cisgender woman with superpowers on The Umbrella Academy<\/a><\/em>, will remain in the series<\/a> in the same role, according to Variety<\/a>. Seemingly sealing the deal: The series itself retweeted the Variety article that reported the news<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Page, formerly known as Ellen Page, announced he is trans and identifies as non-binary in a tweet he posted on December 1. He has starred in films such as Juno<\/em>\u00a0and X-Men: Days of Future Past<\/em>, and TV series including Tales of the City<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Variety report said that “insiders” had told them that there were “no plans to change the character’s gender” on The Umbrella Academy<\/em>. It also noted that Netflix is in the process of changing his name in all titles in which he app<\/a>ears on the streamer.<\/p>\n

The series, which is planning to be\u00a0 back in production for Season 3 in February, is publicly showing its support.<\/p>\n
