\n Gov. Andrew Cuomo took aim at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis\u2019 coronavirus response Sunday \u2014 after his Sunshine State counterpart made a dig about the Empire State.<\/p>\n

The war of words began Saturday when DeSantis was asked about Cuomo saying he was considering imposing a quarantine for Floridian visitors.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would just ask if that\u2019s done just please do not quarantine any Floridians in the nursing homes in New York,\u201d DeSantis quipped at a press conference.<\/p>\n

Rich Azzopardi, a Cuomo senior advisor, fired back at DeSantis on Sunday, retorting, \u201csaid the guy who can\u2019t even put on a mask on the right way!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe less time repeating right-wing Twitter<\/a> bots and more time\u200e trying to competently manage the pandemic that\u2019s spiking in his state,\u201d Azzopardi said. \u201cHis citizens, which polls show have zero faith in him, might app<\/a>reciate it.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeSantis was seen in a viral video failing to secure one of the loops of his N95 mask around his head, leaving the band hanging \u2014 and rendering the protective gear useless.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Florida has seen a rate of infections remaining high, with nearly 12 percent of recent tests coming back from labs as positive.<\/p>\n

With nearly 3,500 new infections on Sunday, the state\u2019s total rose to more than 97,000, officials said.<\/p>\n

The death toll also jumped to at least 3,160, including 17 additional deaths announced Sunday.<\/p>\n
