A source told People<\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u201cThey kept their miscarriage private for months because it was very painful and not anything that they knew if they would ever want to share. \u2026 They both seemed shocked at how painful it was. Meghan was ready to share now because so many women go through the same thing in silence.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

An insider for Us Weekly<\/em> agreed that the experience was \u201cabsolutely devastating\u201d for the royal couple. The source explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cThey still struggle to even think about it, but have supported each other through the agony. In many ways, the loss has brought them closer together and made them stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Reiterating that the Suits<\/em> alum wanted \u201cto encourage others to not suffer in silence,\u201d they praised her \u201chuge impact,\u201d noting that \u201cThousands are coming forward and sharing their stories.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ruth Bender Atik<\/strong>, national director of the Miscarriage Association in the UK, confirmed to People<\/em> the positive effect Meghan\u2019s words could have for grieving mothers everywhere. She said:<\/p>\n

\u201cShe talked about the taboo of miscarriage. And I know that\u2019s something that concerns a lot of people. And she talked about her feelings of both physical and emotional pain \u2014 for Harry too. It\u2019s important to realize that partners are affected.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Meghan and Harry aren\u2019t the only ones who grew closer from the tragedy \u2014 sources say the whole royal family has come together in support. In particular, an insider previously told Us<\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u201cCharles has been supporting Harry and Meghan during their time of grief. There is a great sadness around the royal family for Harry and Meghan.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Elsewhere, a \u201cclose friend\u201d of the couple told Vanity Fair<\/em>:<\/p>\n

Another friend, speaking with People<\/em>, agreed that Meg and Harry \u201care in good health\u201d and that recently \u201cthey took the time off just to focus on family\u201d for their first Thanksgiving in the US. That included a visit from the actress\u2019s mother Doria Ragland<\/strong>, \u201cwhich always makes Meghan happ<\/a>y.\u201d<\/p>\n
