Hundreds of people on Wednesday night \u2014 including members of the right-wing group Proud Boys \u2014 protested the closure of a Staten Island bar that ignored COVID-19 restrictions.<\/p>\n

\u201cProud Boys in the house,\u201d a handful of people chanted outside Mac\u2019s Public House \u2014 the defiant pub that was shut down by authorities Tuesday night after operating without a license and in violation of health orders.<\/p>\n

One speaker led the crowd through the Proud Boy credo \u2014 \u201cI am a proud Western Chauvinist\u201d \u2014 before segueing into Queen\u2019s \u201cWe Will Rock You.\u201d<\/p>\n

The entrance of the pub was blocked on Wednesday night by dozens of city sheriffs \u2014 who were verbally targeted by some of the protesters.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere is your backbone? Where is your morality?\u201d one protester shouted at the deputies through a speakerphone.<\/p>\n

The city Sheriff\u2019s Department executed the order the night before that also led to the arrest of the pub\u2019s 34-year-old co-owner, Daniel Presti.<\/p>\n

Presti was charged with obstructing governmental administration and multiple violations of city and state laws, authorities have said.<\/p>\n

The business \u2014 which called itself an \u201cautonomous zone\u201d \u2014 had continued allowing indoor customers, despite being within a state-designated coronavirus \u201cOrange Zone\u201d that only allows outdoor dining or takeout.<\/p>\n

Mac\u2019s Public House also received complaints for operating past the 10 p.m. curfew imposed by Gov. Cuomo\u2019s executive order.<\/p>\n

The state yanked the bar\u2019s license to sell booze last week.<\/p>\n

Plainclothes deputies went inside the establishment at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday and ordered food in exchange for a mandatory $40 \u201cdonation,\u201d authorities said. <\/p>\n

Uniformed deputies went in an hour later and found 14 people inside the pub, the majority eating and consuming alcoholic beverages.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
