Zappos founder Tony Hseih didn\u2019t have a will when he died from complications of smoke inhalation in a Connecticut house fire, according to a report.<\/p>\n

The family of the former shoe e-tailer CEO filed court papers in Las Vegas Wednesday asking a judge to name his father and brother as special administrators to his estate, 8 News Now Las Vegas reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe co-applicants are unaware of the existence of a fully executed estate plan and have a good faith belief that the decedent died intestate,\u201d court papers said. <\/p>\n

The family said it needs access to Hsieh\u2019s financial and social media<\/a> accounts and to connect with his lawyers.<\/p>\n

Hsieh\u2019s next of kin is listed as his parents and two brothers.<\/p>\n

The 46-year-old entrepreneur, who lived in Vegas, died Friday after being pulled unconscious from a shed that was on fire at a home in New London, Connecticut on Nov. 18.<\/p>\n

His death was ruled an accident due to complications from smoke inhalation.<\/p>\n

Hsieh, who led the Zappos empire for 20 years before retiring as CEO in August, purchased the home at 500 Pequot Avenue for $1.3 million in August for a woman named Rachael Brown, according to Fox 61<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Brown, a native of Connecticut, was believed to have been Hsieh\u2019s girlfriend and is a well-known cellist, the Las Vegas Review Journal reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A death certificate with the family\u2019s filing says Hsieh died at 5 a.m. Friday and lists his occupation as entrepreneur and urban developer.<\/p>\n

The cause of the fire is under investigation.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
