Vice President-elect Harris has tapp<\/a>ed Hartina Flournoy, chief of staff to former President Clinton, to be her incoming chief of staff, the Biden transition team announced Thursday along with two other hires.<\/p>\n

Flournoy, who also worked in public policy for the American Federation of Teachers, the second largest teachers union in the country, will be joined on Harris\u2019 team by Ambassador Nancy McEldowney and Rohini Kosoglu, who will serve as national security advisor and domestic policy advisor, respectively.<\/p>\n

\u201cTogether with the rest of my team, today\u2019s appointees will work to get this virus under control, open our economy responsibly and make sure it lifts up all Americans, and restore and advance our country\u2019s leadership around the world,\u201d Harris said in a statement on the three hires. <\/p>\n

McEldowney is the former ambassador to Bulgaria, though she also served the State Department on missions in Turkey and Azerbaijan. <\/p>\n

Kosoglu was serving as a senior advisor to Harris on the Biden-Harris transition team; prior to that, she served as Harris\u2019 chief of staff in the Senate.<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, Harris announced that Ashley Etienne, a senior adviser to the Biden campaign and spokeswoman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, would be joining the team as communications director. <\/p>\n

She also announced that campaign senior adviser Symone Sanders would become her chief spokeswoman.<\/p><\/div>\n
