CSIS is a well-known Washington, DC-based think tank. <\/p>\n<p>The authors of the analysis, Judd Devermont and Topaz Mukulu, were extremely optimistic about the future role of crypto, specifically predicting that &#8220;Digital currencies almost certainly will become more common in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> and in sub-Saharan Africa in particular.&#8221; They conclude their analysis with a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of recommendations, including more education and standardization of regulation across the region&#8217;s many borders.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The same day, the G20-founded advisory group the Financial Stability Board held a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fsb.org\/2020\/12\/fsb-sub-saharan-africa-group-discusses-regional-vulnerabilities-and-enhancing-cross-border-payments\/\">meeting<\/a>\u00a0for its Sub-Saharan Africa Group.\u00a0Per its announcement, the group also discussed &#8220;the roadmap to enhance cross-border payments (Roadmap), including addressing regulatory and supervisory issues with respect to \u2018global stablecoins\u2019.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The FSB had not responded to Cointelegraph&#8217;s request for meeting minutes as of publication time.<\/p>\n<p><template data-name=\"subscription_form\" data-type=\"law_decoded\"><\/template>Sub-Saharan Africa features a number of countries that vary wildly in technological and economic development. Lacking a common currency or trade laws, borders become barriers to trade and growth. It is also the region most expensive to send money to; per think tank <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.brookings.edu\/blog\/africa-in-focus\/2020\/06\/25\/figure-of-the-week-remittance-flows-to-sub-saharan-africa-expected-to-slow-after-years-of-growth\/#:~:text=In%20the%20last%20quarter%20of,the%20Sustainable%20Development%20Goal%2010\">Brookings<\/a>, remittances cost 8.9% of their value.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nigeria, Africa&#8217;s largest economy, has correspondingly been the most assertive in regulating blockchain and cryptocurrency usage. <\/p>\n<p>Cointelegraph has previously noted the particular benefits that emerging technologies can offer throughout Africa.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
