Spotify, one of the world\u2019s largest streaming audio providers, is looking for candidates with a crypto background to fill a new role at the company.<\/p>\n

According to a recent\u00a0job post, the company is looking<\/a> for an outstanding associate director to join its payments strategy and innovation department. According to an announcement on LinkedIn, the new job listing was published<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The new position is expected to play a key role in defining and implementing Spotify\u2019s payments strategy as well as furthering the company\u2019s involvement in Facebook<\/a>’s recently rebranded crypto project,\u00a0Diem. The position will also focus on wider digital assets and the crypto industry, including central bank digital currencies, or CBDCs, the announcement notes:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou will drive further consideration of new opportunities and innovation in the emerging ecosystem of distributed ledger technology<\/a>, blockchains, cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, CBDCs and other digital assets.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to the posting, the new role will be based in Spotify\u2019s London or Stockholm offices, requiring frequent travel<\/a> between the two offices and other company locations.<\/p>\n

Spotify did not immediately respond to Cointelegraph\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n

Spotify is one of initial members of the Libra Foundation that was formally founded in Geneva in October 2019. Unlike\u00a0PayPal and MasterCard, Spotify is among the firms that have not abandoned Facebook’s crypto project over increased scrutiny from global regulators.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
