Just in case you were still waiting for confirmation, it looks like it\u2019s official: Hailee Steinfeld<\/strong> is part of the\u00a0Hawkeye<\/em><\/strong> cast. Steinfeld has been rumored to play\u00a0Kate Bishop for a while now, but there\u2019s been next to no confirmation. In fact, at one point, Steinfeld seemed to flat-out deny she was even app<\/a>earing in the series<\/a>. But the other day, Steinfeld was spotted on the\u00a0Hawkeye<\/em> set in character, acting alongside star Jeremy Renner<\/strong>. And now a new report from Variety confirms she\u2019s part of the cast \u2013 and she\u2019s got company. Florence Pugh<\/strong>, who will appear in\u00a0Black Widow<\/em>, will pop-up on\u00a0Hawkeye<\/em> as well. And so will Vera Farmiga<\/strong>,\u00a0Better Call Saul<\/em>\u2018s\u00a0Tony Dalton<\/strong>, and more.<\/p>\n

Variety<\/a> has the scoop on the\u00a0Hawkeye<\/em> cast. Jeremy Renner is, of course, returning as\u00a0Clint Barton\/Hawkeye. And he\u2019s joined by\u00a0Hailee Steinfeld, Vera Farmiga, Florence Pugh, Fra Fee<\/strong>, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox<\/strong>, and Zahn McClarnon<\/strong>. Steinfeld is playing fan-favorite Kate Bishop while Pugh is reprising her role of\u00a0Yelena Belova, sister of\u00a0Scarlett Johansson\u2019s Black Widow. Pugh is making her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the upcoming\u00a0Black Widow<\/em> movie, and by all accounts, that film will have Pugh\u2019s Yelena Belova assuming the Black Window mantle (since Johansson\u2019s Black Widow died in\u00a0Avengers: Endgame<\/a><\/em>).
\nFarmiga will play\u00a0Eleanor Bishop, the mother of Kate Bishop; Fee is \u201cKazi, most likely short for Kazimierz Kazimierczak, known to Marvel fans as the mercenary villain Clown;\u201d Dalton is playing \u201cJack Duquesne, more than likely a take on the Marvel character Jacques Duquesne or Swordsman;\u201d Cox is \u201cMaya Lopez, the true name of the Marvel character Echo, a deaf Native American who is capable of perfectly copying another person\u2019s movements, making her a formidable fighter;\u201d and McClarnon is playing \u201cWilliam Lopez, likely a take on Maya\u2019s father Willie \u2018Crazy Horse\u2019 Lincoln from the comics.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is a damn solid cast. Pugh is consistently great, as is Farmiga. I was unaware of Dalton until I saw him on Better Call Saul,<\/span>\u00a0<\/em>and his work there is solid. And I\u2019m always happy to see MccClarnon, who has appeared on\u00a0Westworld<\/em>,\u00a0Fargo<\/em>, and in the movie\u00a0Doctor Sleep<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Hawkeye<\/em> series comes from creator\u00a0Jonathan Igla, with Igla serving as head writer and\u00a0Bert & Bertie and Rhys Thomas directing. The show is said to pick up after\u00a0Avengers: Endgame<\/em>, and will have Hawkeye training Kate Bishop to take over as the new Hawkeye. It\u2019s one of several Marvel Disney+ shows on the horizon, including\u00a0WandaVision<\/em>,\u00a0The Falcon and the Winter Soldier<\/em>, and\u00a0Loki<\/em>, all of which are set to premiere in 2021. Then there are future shows like\u00a0She-Hulk<\/em>, Ms. Marvel<\/em>, and Moon Knight<\/em>.<\/p>\n
