{"id":126026,"date":"2020-12-03T20:07:57","date_gmt":"2020-12-03T17:07:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/facebook-vows-to-remove-false-claims-about-covid-19-vaccines\/"},"modified":"2020-12-03T20:07:57","modified_gmt":"2020-12-03T17:07:57","slug":"facebook-vows-to-remove-false-claims-about-covid-19-vaccines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/facebook-vows-to-remove-false-claims-about-covid-19-vaccines\/","title":{"rendered":"#Facebook vows to remove false claims about COVID-19 vaccines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> vows to remove false claims about COVID-19 vaccines<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/facebook-removing-vax-misinformation-e1607015192181.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Facebook says it will remove bogus claims about coronavirus vaccines from its platforms in its latest effort to clamp down on misinformation during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The social network\u2019s Thursday announcement came as officials around the world make plans to distribute the shots with regulators expected to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>rove them for emergency use in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The Silicon Valley titan said it will target false statements about the vaccines that have been \u201cdebunked by public health experts\u201d on Facebook and Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>Those include baseless claims that the shots contain microchips along with bogus conspiracy theories, such as the idea that certain groups of people are being used to test the vaccine\u2019s safety without their consent, Facebook said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will not be able to start enforcing these policies overnight,\u201d Kang-Xing Jin, Facebook\u2019s head of health, said in a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/about.fb.com\/news\/2020\/12\/coronavirus\/#latest\">blog post<\/a>. \u201cSince it\u2019s early and facts about COVID-19 vaccines will continue to evolve, we will regularly update the claims we remove based on guidance from public health authorities as they learn more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Facebook cast the move as an extension of its efforts to wrangle misinformation about the coronavirus in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>. The company first pledged in January to crack down on COVID-19 conspiracy theories but it has since scrambled to purge some bogus content, such as a viral short film called \u201cPlandemic\u201d that circulated in the spring.<\/p>\n<p>The US Food and Drug Administration is expected to decide this month whether to clear Pfizer and Moderna\u2019s coronavirus vaccines for emergency use. Officials will likely have to combat skepticism about vaccines as they try to inoculate the public \u2014 about half of Americans surveyed in September said they would not take a vaccine if it were available, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/science\/2020\/09\/17\/u-s-public-now-divided-over-whether-to-get-covid-19-vaccine\/\">according to the Pew Research Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook shares were down about 1.2 percent at $283.96 as of 11:33 a.m. Thursday.\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
