Three\u00a0U.S. Marshals were shot during an exchange of gunfire\u00a0with a suspect wanted out of Massachusetts\u00a0early Friday in the Bronx,\u00a0according to police and a report.<\/p>\n

The shots were fired inside\u00a04085 Ely Avenue\u00a0in Wakefield during a Marshals-led operation around 5:30 a.m.,\u00a0the NYPD said.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0gunfire erupted when the deputies\u00a0app<\/a>roached a man wanted for shooting a Massachusetts state trooper in the hand during a traffic stop last week, NBC New York reported.<\/a><\/p>\n

The suspect was fatally shot at the scene, and another man was taken to Jacobi for treatment, ABC 7 reported<\/a>. It was not immedia<\/a>tely clear if the wounded man was also a suspect<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The FDNY confirmed that EMS\u00a0transported four people to Jacobi and one was pronounced dead on scene, with no details on each of the patients.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0The marshals all had non-life-threatening injuries, cops said.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the deputies was hit in the arm and the other two in the leg, NBC reported.\u00a0\n <\/p><\/div>\n
