James Bond\u2019s original gun has a new owner. <\/p>\n

Hollywood memorabilia hawker Julien\u2019s Auctions has sold the Walther PP handgun used by the late Sean Connery<\/a> in the first James Bond film, 1962\u2019s \u201cDr. No,\u201d for $256,000. <\/p>\n

The historic firearm was the top-selling item at the Beverly Hills-based auction house\u2019s Dec. 3 sale, which included more than 500 other costumes, props and Hollywood artifacts. <\/p>\n

\u201cIn the cinematic debut of the character of James Bond, Connery uses this hero weapon throughout the film,\u201d Julien\u2019s Auctions wrote in a press release. \u201cThe silhouette of the Walther PP and PPK has served as the key iconic image for the character of James Bond since the film franchise debuted with \u2018Dr. No,\u2019 and this deactivated handgun was the first of all that followed.\u201d <\/p>\n

The buyer is specified only as an anonymous American and James Bond diehard fan who \u201chas seen every James Bond movie with their children.\u201d <\/p>\n

Other items sold in the sale included two pieces of Tom Cruise memorabilia \u2014 a fighter pilot helmet made for him and used in \u201cTop Gun,\u201d which sold for $108,000, and a Navy officer\u2019s cap made for his character Lt. Daniel Kaffee in the 1992 film \u201cA Few Good Men\u201d ($9,375). Various props from Quentin Tarantino\u2019s 1994 cult classic \u201cPulp Fiction\u201d were also auctioned: A stunt Katana Sword used by Bruce Willis brought $35,200, 35 times what it was anticipated to make, and a medical adrenaline kit with needless-syringe, used tray, unused tray cover and a drained adrenaline bottle, which were used in Uma Thurman\u2019s iconic heroin overdose scene and landed $8,750. <\/p>\n

In addition, an 158-page embossed script<\/a> for 1972\u2019s \u201cThe Godfather,\u201d marked \u201cThird Draft,\u201d sold for $10,240; a copy of \u201cGrays Sports Almanac,\u201d from 1989\u2019s \u201cBack to the Future Part II,\u201d went for $22,400; and Steve Martin\u2019s \u201cDirty Rotten Scoundrels\u201d military costume got $11,250. <\/p>\n

In contrast, a rare, first edition, holographic Pok\u00e9mon card from 1999 currently boasts a $170,000 bid with over a week left until auction. <\/p>\n
