They considered a City Hall celebration, but quickly realized it was closed. So Ingram, now Ingram-Lewis, 41, took a chance and turned to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a>, posting a long-shot call for help.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHi Moms, anyone know of a brownstone owner in Harlem who would allow me to get married on their steps,\u201d she wrote in late October on the page for the neighborhood group Harlem Moms.<\/p>\n<p>Ingram-Lewis was shocked when 10 total strangers reached out to offer their homes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Call it their \u201csomething borrowed.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe went around to every one of them,\u201d Ingram-Lewis told The Post of scouting for the perfect stoop spot to host their nuptials.<\/p>\n<p>The stay-at-home mom \u2014 who said the spring lockdown made the couple want to act on their four-year engagement and \u201cbe committed as a family\u201d \u2014 was smitten with Mica Henderson\u2019s building, in the historic Jumel Terrace section of Washington Heights. \u201cIt was just beautiful,\u201d said Ingram-Lewis. <\/p>\n<p>Plus, the neighborhood had additional significance for the duo, who were actually both raised there. \u201cThat\u2019s where our first dates were,\u201d said Ingram-Lewis.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-nypost-inline-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"300\" height=\"450\" alt=\"Mica Henderson\" class=\"wp-image-16744923 lazyload\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/mica-henderson.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=300 300w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/mica-henderson.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=640 640w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/mica-henderson.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1280 1280w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/mica-henderson.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=600 600w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 300px\"\/><figcaption>Mica Henderson<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of Mica Henderson<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Henderson, who\u2019s lived in the neighborhood for two years, knew her home was the right place for the nuptials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe live right across the street from Morris-Jumel Mansion, the historic area \u2014 it\u2019s very pretty,\u201d she told The Post. \u201cIt\u2019s right next to the clapboard houses that are in lots of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a>. I thought it would be nice for them to take photos there, and they did.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It was an easy choice to share her digs with the local lovebirds. \u201cI believe you have to do nice things for others in order to receive good things in your life,\u201d said Henderson, 45. \u201cWhy not help people out?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not the first time she\u2019s been involved in a stranger\u2019s wedding. <\/p>\n<p>Once, when in Las Vegas, she met a couple who was eloping. Henderson ended up being their witness and posed for the official photos. They stayed in touch, and she flew to England to attend their reception months later. \u201cAnything to do with love and marriage, weird s\u2013t always h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ens to me,\u201d said Henderson, a social worker.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She and Ingram-Lewis never met in person and didn\u2019t speak on the phone \u2014 the entire affair was planned over Facebook messenger. \u201cIt was totally easy, [Mica] said, \u2018I\u2019d be honored,\u2019 and that was just it,\u201d said the bride, who also found their officiant via Facebook. \u201cIt was really sweet.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The wedding was on Thanksgiving day. Ingram-Lewis hired a decorator to dress up Henderson\u2019s stoop with flowers and candles. \u201c[Mica] blew away the leaves from the house so the person could decorate. They came out before to make sure it was neat and tidy for us,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!--If the slideshow is embedded in another post type add the inline wrapper --><\/p>\n<p>Only 20 people were in attendance. Keeping within COVID-19 guidelines, guests wore masks and were asked to stay with the people they live with. Ingram-Lewis\u2019 son walked her down the makeshift aisle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was almost like we rented a venue. It was only us for the most part. We got so lucky. We don\u2019t know if they\u2019re good people, bad people, rowdy,\u2019\u201d Ingram-Lewis said. \u201cBut she literally had no issue whatsoever.
