Daniel Jones practiced on Friday. That\u2019s the good news<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He remains unlikely to play Sunday. That\u2019s the bad news.<\/p>\n

Call it a mixed bag for the Giants, who in all probability won\u2019t have their starting quarterback under center Sunday afternoon in Seattle but very well might only lose him to a strained hamstring for just this one game<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During the portion of practice open to the media<\/a> on Friday, Jones didn\u2019t do much. He mostly stood and watched while the Big Blue first team offense got its work in. He was still listed as a limited participant and classified as doubtful to face the Seahawks.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll see how he does in practice [Friday] and after our flight,\u201d coach Joe Judge said over Zoom, prior to practice.<\/p>\n

If the second-year quarterback can\u2019t go, Colt McCoy will be under center. After Jones got hurt in last Sunday\u2019s victory over the Washington Football Team, the Giants\u2019 third straight win. McCoy took over in the third quarter and completed 6 of 10 passes for 31 yards. Much more production will obviously be needed to upset the favored Seahawks.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old McCoy has received a majority of the first-team snaps this week in practice while practice-squad quarterback Clayton Thorsen has received some. The plan is to bring former Giants quarterback Alex Tanney, a backup with the team from 2018-19 who was released in September, to Seattle as well in case he is needed.<\/p>\n

McCoy, in his 11th year in the league, is likely to make his 29th career start and first since Oct. 6, 2019 against the Patriots, as a member of the Washington Football Team.<\/p>\n

\u201cColt\u2019s had a good week of practice,\u201d Judge said. \u201cHe\u2019s working hard. Colt\u2019s got a lot of experience. He doesn\u2019t really miss a beat. He gets in there, it\u2019s like riding a bike for this guy. He gets in there and he competes. Everything is very, very competitive with Colt.\u201d<\/p>\n
