A 5-year-old boy from Virginia brought a gun to school after grabbing an adult\u2019s backpack by mistake, authorities said. <\/p>\n

The boy pulled out the weapon from the bag during class at Anne E. Moncure Elementary School in Stafford on Thursday, the Stafford County Sheriff\u2019s Office said in a statement<\/a>. <\/p>\n

School staff immedia<\/a>tely confiscated the firearm and called the sheriff\u2019s office. <\/p>\n

An investigation revealed the boy had accidentally grabbed an adult\u2019s backpack \u2014 which had the gun inside \u2014 before he was dropped off at school. <\/p>\n

The sheriff\u2019s office said charges against the gun owner are pending.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
