That\u2019s not the case anymore, according to a study released on Monday by the Bank for International Settlements.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       As part of its quarterly review, the BIS studied the response of 10-year Treasury yields<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD10Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">0.942%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       to S&amp;P 500<br \/>\n        SPX,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210599714\/realtime\" class=\"positive\">+0.88%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       selloffs. Before the 2000s, the yield on the benchmark government bond tended to rise by 2 basis points when the S&amp;P 500 fell by 1%. That is, stocks and bonds fell together.<\/p>\n<p>After 2000, Treasurys did become an effective hedge to stock market losses, as yields declined during equity market downturns.<\/p>\n<p>But over the last two years, that relationship is starting to ebb, the BIS found. The response of 10-year yields to S&amp;P 500 selloffs has become more muted since 2018, which the BIS postulated could be because of the limited easing space available for the Federal Reserve. <\/p>\n<p>Another factor behind the faltering relationship could reflect the declining <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>etite of dealers to inter<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>te.
