What a huge moment. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Endgame<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> wasn\u2019t so long ago that we forgot how that felt as it h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened, but the existence of that video also helps make sure we never forget that elation, the straight-up childlike joy that moment produced.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now \u2013 sorry, I am still bossing you around \u2013 imagine the first <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Avengers<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> film. Compared to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Endgame<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the Battle of New York almost feels like a Max Fischer production (something <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Endgame<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> actually gives you an opportunity to consider). Thor\u2019s hair still isn\u2019t quite the right mixture of prettyboy beauty and sweaty-warrior disgusting. Captain America\u2019s costume is a little too plastic and cheesy. No one had any idea what to do with Hawkeye yet.<\/span><br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post --><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nevertheless, Marvel was creating show-stopper moments even this far back. Not in every film, but certainly in the big ones. And <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Avengers <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was their first attempt at a really big one. It seems quaint now, but at the time, the first fight between members of Marvel\u2019s super-team was jaw-dropping.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Iron Man vs Thor - Fight Scene - The Avengers (2012) Movie Clip HD [1080p 60 FPS]\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kjiSVunIWpU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Scene\"><\/span><b>The Scene<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a cliche that superheroes fight when they first meet, but it\u2019s one of those good cliches that makes too much sense to ignore. These are superheroes, centers of their own stories. Each is totally used to being the smartest person in the room. The strongest person in the room. Heck, even the best-looking person in the room. Meeting someone who challenges that worldview is going to lead to a tussle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And that\u2019s precicely what happens as Marvel\u2019s big three at the time \u2013 Thor, Iron Man and Captain America \u2013 first meet. At the time the only other Avenger we felt familiar with was Black Widow. These guys <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">were<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the MCU and seeing them share the screen was a delight four years in the making. It would have been boring if they all stood in a triangle and shook hands.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_2 --><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Writer\/director Joss Whedon doesn\u2019t arbitrarily create the fight either. Cap and Iron Man have captured Loki and Thor feels it well within his rights to nab his brother for Asgardian justice. And of course that\u2019s not going to fly with our Earth-bound heroes, so\u2026 fight!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_Its_So_Great\"><\/span><b>Why It\u2019s So Great<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This early on, I don\u2019t know if we can call the fight choreography and effects all that delightful. They aren\u2019t bad, but this is far from the most exciting Marvel fight. The woods are an interesting setting, but also a dark one that masks some of the iffy visuals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instead, the greatness here comes down to Joss Whedon\u2019s writing. His interpretation of these characters helped cement how we saw them going forward, and this fight offers a whole lot of that charm and character knowledge. Thor is haughty to the point of self-parody, a point Iron Man instantly picks apart. The idea that Thor\u2019s main weapon, lightning, would help Iron Man more than hurt him is inspired. Captain America\u2019s role as the measured <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tor makes him almost as lame as he is cool, which fits the character\u2019s whole Boyscout deal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scene now seems somewhat underrated or forgotten. The first half of <em>The<\/em>\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Avengers<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> isn\u2019t always exciting and this early bit of action gets swept aside once the film really starts rolling with its main plot (and secret main character, Mark Ruffalo\u2019s Hulk). Even when it comes to Avenger versus Avenger fighting, Thor versus the Hulk is way more satisfying in terms of action.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instead, this scene ends up playing as a surprise reminder upon rewatches. Truthfully, I always settle in for a quiet first half and find myself pleasantly woken up by this initial Avengers altercation. There would be more, by the way. Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch begin as enemies. Iron Man\u2019s away team fights the Guardians of the Galaxy in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Infinity War<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. And then there\u2019s that whole Civil War thing. It might be easier to count the times they <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">weren\u2019t<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> fighting.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_If\"><\/span><b>What If?<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_3 --><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What if Thor didn\u2019t pull any punches? Here\u2019s the deal \u2013 and I don\u2019t want to anger any Iron Fans \u2013 but we see Thor take a full blast and not care, plus we see him crush Iron Man\u2019s armor with his bare hands. In other words, Iron Man cannot hurt Thor, but Thor can crush Iron Man. So what if Thor, you know, killed Iron Man before Captain America could interrupt? Because that is definitely where that fight was headed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The answer is less fun than the question: everything goes to hell and Loki becomes King of Earth until Thanos gets all his rocks together and the blip happens without issue. Maybe \u2013 MAYBE \u2013 Captain Marvel shows up earlier as a result, but probably not and would it even matter if she did?
