Fans of\u00a0Feel Good<\/em> <\/strong>must\u2026feel good right now, as the critically acclaimed dramedy has been renewed by Netflix for a second and final season. But this is not the end for star and co-creator Mae Martin<\/strong>\u2018s relationship with the streamer: Netflix is already developing another project with Martin and\u00a0Feel Good\u00a0<\/em>producer Objective Fiction.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> reports that Netflix has renewed\u00a0Feel Good<\/em> for a second and final season. The\u00a0semi-autobiographical comedy series from comedia<\/a>n Mae Martin, which was a\u00a0co-production with the U.K.\u2019s Channel 4, followed Mae as a recovering addict \u201cnavigating\u00a0the modern-day fluid landscape of gender and sexuality.\u201d But as she \u201cattempts to control the addictive behaviours and intense romanticism that permeate every facet of her life\u2026things become even more complicated for her, as she gets into an all-consuming relationship with her new girlfriend, George, played by Charlotte Ritchie.\u201d<\/span>
\nThe six-episode series premiered in March to near-universal praise, with critics calling the show<\/a> \u201conce sweetly charming, uncomfortably complicated, and completely worth falling for.\u201d<\/p>\n

It seems from the outside that\u00a0Feel Good<\/em> is another unfortunate casualty of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which has led to the axing of a number<\/a> of Netflix\u2019s most acclaimed (and oftentimes, female or POV-led) titles like\u00a0GLOW,\u00a0<\/em>I Am Not Okay With This, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance<\/em>,\u00a0Chilling Adventures of Sabrina<\/em>, and more.<\/p>\n

But this isn\u2019t the end of this collaboration between artist and streamer. Netflixconfirmed this season 2 renewal with the news<\/a> that Netflix is\u00a0developing another project with Martin and\u00a0Feel Good<\/em>\u00a0producer Objective Fiction, which it won in a competitive bidding situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m beyond excited to be able to return to the world of\u00a0Feel Good<\/em>, and to see Mae and George\u2019s love story through to the dramatic conclusion we had always planned,\u201d said Martin. \u201cI\u2019m really deeply attached to this story and I\u2019m so grateful to be getting back to work with the incredible team at Objective Fiction and our hilarious cast. Having spent most of 2020 speaking only to my kettle and my television as I watched the world burn on the internet, I\u2019m euphoric to be around other human beings again. Seeing Joe Hampson\u2019s and my dumb jokes come to life is heaven. Thank you, Netflix!\u201d<\/p>\n

Created by\u00a0Martin and Joe Hampson,\u00a0Feel Good<\/em> season 2 will \u201cdeal with Mae struggling to come to terms with her past while George tries to reinvent her present,\u201d per THR.\u00a0Lisa Kudrow, Philip Burgers and Adrian Lukis will reprise their roles in the second season, while Jordan Stephens, John Ross Bowie, Eve and Eleanor Matsuura will join the cast.
