When Superman & Lois takes flight in 2021, Tyler Hoechlin’s titular hero will have a new look.<\/p>\n

The CW and Warner Bros. on Wednesday dropped a new photo of the Man of Steel with an overhauled suit.<\/p>\n

\u201cI find that the new suit is representative of the show,\u201d Hoechlin says of the redesign.<\/p>\n

“Just as this suit is unique and set apart from the ones that preceded it, the story we\u2019re telling about Clark\/Superman at this point in his life is unique and something we\u2019ve never seen before.”<\/p>\n

“I app<\/a>reciate the opportunity to wear the suit and the responsibility that comes with it. It\u2019s always interesting when I\u2019m asked how I feel about \u2018my new suit.\u2019 because I\u2019ve always felt that the suit doesn\u2019t belong to me; it belongs to everyone that finds some kind of meaning in that suit, in the symbol on the chest. I just happen to be the one wearing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adds designer Laura Shannon, \u201cWe got Superman into some custom athletic inspired Super-Boots as a \u2018jumping off point\u2019 and focused on a new neckline and cape to maximize the billowing and movement we all love to see in the books and films that have defined this character for generations.”<\/p>\n

“A streamlined muscle structure and updated paint job combined with some dynamic design lines and a sculpted armored belt all took his established custom fabric into a new direction to solidify the new look for Superman in Superman & Lois.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Superman & Lois after years of facing megalomaniacal supervillains, monsters wreaking havoc on Metropolis, and alien invaders intent on wiping out the human race, the world\u2019s most famous superhero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin, Teen Wolf) and comic books\u2019 most famous journalist, Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch, Grimm), come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever – dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today\u2019s society.<\/p>\n

Complicating the already daunting job of raising two boys, Clark and Lois must also concern themselves with whether or not their sons Jonathan (Jordan Elsass, Little Fires Everywhere) and Jordan (Alexander Garfin, The Peanuts Movie) could inherit their father\u2019s Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older.<\/p>\n

Returning to Smallville to handle some Kent family business, Clark and Lois are reacquainted with Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui, Entourage), a local loan officer who also happens to be Clark\u2019s first love, and her Fire Chief husband Kyle Cushing (Erik Valdez, Graceland).<\/p>\n

The adults aren\u2019t the only ones rediscovering old friendships in Smallville as the Kent sons are reacquainted with Lana and Kyle\u2019s rebellious daughter, Sarah (Inde Navarrette, Wander Darkly).<\/p>\n

Of course, there\u2019s never a dull moment in the life of a superhero, especially with Lois\u2019 father, General<\/a> Samuel Lane (Dylan Walsh, Nip\/Tuck) looking for Superman to vanquish a villain or save the day at a moment\u2019s notice.<\/p>\n

\n Meanwhile, Superman and Lois\u2019 return to idyllic Smallville is set to be upended when a mysterious stranger (Wol\u00e9 Parks, All American) enters their lives.<\/p>\n
