Wild Florida photos show a bird gobbling up a live gator in a jaw-dropping animal kingdom switcheroo that went viral Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The hungry heron turned the juvenile gator into a swamp-side snack \u2014 snapp<\/a>ing it up the reptile with its pointy beak and swallowing it whole at Lake Apopka near Orlando, according to wildlife photographer Danny Gilliam.<\/p>\n

\u201cCrazy sequence while out and about Lake Apopka Florida. Great Blue Heron eating a large juvenile alligator,\u201d said Gilliam, who posted the photo series<\/a> on his Facebook page.<\/a><\/p>\n

Images\u00a0 of the bird\u2019s brutal breakfast raked in more 87,000 shares \u2014 and plenty of fans Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat good fortune to witness this ruggedly beautiful meal,\u201d one observer wrote. Another added, \u201cHoly cow! That is beyond incredible!!\n <\/p><\/div>\n
