Manning at The National Interest<\/a>, because the list seems \u201ca very conscious reprise\u201d of imperial Japan\u2019s \u201cnow-infamous Twenty-One Demands\u201d to China a century ago, as Tokyo began \u201cbuilding its Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.\u201d And when it comes to Communist China\u2019s overall economic coercion, \u201cthe pattern is unmistakable.\u201d Other nations \u201cneed to collectively stand up and say: This shall not stand, we cannot do business this way with China.\u201d He recommends 10 \u00addemands to make of Beijing, including true transparency, honoring its treaty commitments, taking down the \u201cGreat Firewall,\u201d ending Communist Party control of private businesses and agreeing to real international investigation of the novel coronavirus\u2019 origins.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Media<\/a> watch: Journalists vs. Free Speech <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The New Yorker\u2019s Steve Coll claims free speech \u201cis being weaponized against the principles of journalism,\u201d yet <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2020\/12\/journalists-turn-on-free-expression\/\">National Review\u2019s David Harsanyi shows <\/a>that it\u2019s journalism that \u201chas turned on free speech.\u201d Now that the Fourth Estate can no longer \u201cmonopolize\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> we consume, it asserts that \u201ctoo much speech\u201d is bad for our institutions. Criticism, for instance, that \u201cFacebook\u2019s reluctance to limit users is akin to neglecting efforts to \u2018preserve democracy,\u2019 as Coll ludicrously suggests,\u201d only shows \u201chow the contemporary usage of \u2018democracy\u2019 means little more than \u2018fulfilling the wishes of liberals.\u2019\u200a\u201d Yes, \u201cmainstream journalists .\u2009.\u2009. regularly spread unscientific, indecent and misleading ideas.\u201d But \u201cthat\u2019s not a free-speech problem, it\u2019s a journalist problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the left: Biden Backs the Blob<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The blob is back,<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/22153765\/joe-biden-foreign-policy-team-revenge-blob\"> declares Vox\u2019s Alex Ward<\/a>. Presidents Trump and Barack Obama were \u201cdeeply skeptical of the capital\u2019s groupthink\u201d and \u201ckept the nation\u2019s foreign-policy establishment at arm\u2019s length,\u201d but Joe Biden \u201chas warmly embraced it.\u201d In his \u201cnearly 50 years in national politics,\u201d he has \u201cformed deep bonds with Washington\u2019s foreign-policy elite,\u201d and \u201cthe senior-most members of Biden\u2019s foreign-policy team are card-carrying members of the blob,\u201d reflecting \u201chis own blob-like views.\u201d That raises fears \u201cthat the new administration\u2019s thinking will remain calcified in yesteryear.\u201d The \u201cold guard is back in power\u201d and will be in the room \u201cwhen the biggest decisions on China, Russia, Iran and North Korea are made.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201dLibertarian: Sheriffs vs. California Lockdowns<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>California Gov. Gavin Newsom has imposed a draconian new stay-at-home lockdown order, but can he enforce it? \u201cOver the past few days,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/2020\/12\/08\/southern-california-sheriffs-rebel-over-gavin-newsoms-new-stay-at-home-order\/\">reports Reason\u2019s Christian Britschgi<\/a>, \u201cthe sheriffs of Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties have said that their deputies will not be issuing tickets or making arrests of people \u00adviolating the governor\u2019s latest coronavirus restrictions.\u201d One sheriff says that unpopular work is up to health departments, while his deputies will tackle \u201c\u200a\u2018super-spreader\u2019 events.\u201d That, Britschgi says, \u201cis an encouraging sign that Newsom, who has operated with a pretty free hand during most of the pandemic, is finally starting to encounter real resistance to his constantly shifting, often arbitrary rules.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the right: The Washington Post\u2019s Hypocrisy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Washington Post just asked every Republican in Congress who they believe won the election, exposing the extent of President Trump\u2019s \u201cstolen-election nonsense\u201d \u2014 but also proving the paper \u201csure can be \u00adselectively tough,\u201d<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/for-the-washington-post-undermining-the-integrity-of-the-election-is-bad-again\"> notes the Washington Examiner\u2019s Becket Adams<\/a>. Think of \u201call the opportunities it missed over the past four years to ask congressional Democrats similar questions.\u201d No calling out Rep.
