You can even set Chrome as your iPhone\u2019s default web browser. Chrome is packed with hidden tricks, so here are the touch gestures you need to know.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Swipe_Down_to_Close_Tabs_Reload_and_Open_Tabs\"><\/span>Swipe Down to Close Tabs, Reload, and Open Tabs<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Chrome has a convenient shortcut for quickly closing the current tab, reloading the open web page, or opening a new tab. Just touch your screen and swipe downward with your finger. By default, the \u201cReload\u201d shortcut in the center of the screen will be focused. (If you\u2019re in the middle of a web page, you\u2019ll have to scroll back up to the top of the page first.)<\/p>\n<p>To close the tab, move your finger to the right to focus \u201cClose Tab.\u201d To open a new tab, move your finger to the left to focus \u201cOpen Tab.\u201d Release your finger to trigger the selected action.<\/p>\n<p>You can do this in one smooth motion. For example, to close the current tab, touch the screen and move your finger down, move it to the right, and quickly release. Chrome will close the tab. You don\u2019t have to tap the Switch Tabs icon on the toolbar at the bottom of the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, you can simply swipe left or right on the toolbar (the URL bar) at the top of the Chrome app. This will switch to the tab to the left or right of your current tab, depending on which direction you swipe. To do this, tap the \u201cSwitch tabs\u201d icon at the bottom of the Chrome app to see all your open tabs. (It looks like a rounded square with a number in it.)<\/p>\n<p>Touch and hold on a tab thumbnail. After a moment, Chrome will gray the other tabs out. You can move the tab\u2019s thumbnail to any location on the screen. However, you\u2019ll find more options if you long-press the \u201c+\u201d button.<\/p>\n<p>Tap \u201cNew Search\u201d to open a new tab with the search field focused so that you can im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely start typing, or tap \u201cIncognito Search\u201d to do the same with a new Incognito tab. If you want to search with your voice or scan a QR code, tap the \u201cVoice Search\u201d or \u201cScan QR Code\u201d options here.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve copied text in Chrome or another app, you\u2019ll also see a \u201cSearch for Text You Copied\u201d option. This will immediately open a new tab and search for the text in your iPhone clipboard. Here, you can tap \u201cNew Incognito Tab\u201d to quickly open an Incognito tab for private browsing, or you can tap \u201cClose Tab\u201d to close the current tab.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s also a \u201cNew Tab\u201d option in this menu. There\u2019s an easier way to dig through a tab\u2019s Back or Forward history.<\/p>\n<p>To do so, long-press either the \u201cBack\u201d or \u201cForward\u201d arrow buttons on the bottom toolbar. While a video is playing, touch it with two fingers and move them apart. The menu button will pop up. Move your finger up until the menu option you want is selected and release your finger to activate it.<\/p>\n<p>This works in Chrome\u2019s other long-press menus, too.
