Clooney directs and stars in the star-studded <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a> fiction epic, which has received decidedly mixed reviews despite Netflix\u2019s clear Oscar hopes for the film. Meanwhile, the crew of the Aether has grown concerned about the silence coming from Earth and set a return course, led by\u00a0mission specialist Sully (<strong>Felicity Jones<\/strong>),\u00a0flight commander Adewole (<strong>David Oyelowo<\/strong>), flight engineer Maya (<strong>Tiffany Boone<\/strong>),\u00a0pilot Mitchell (<strong>Kyle Chandler<\/strong>), and\u00a0aerodynamicist Sanchez (<strong>Demi\u00e1n Bichir<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>The film had been earning lots of buzz, not just for its incredible cast and intriguing premise, but for being Clooney\u2019s latest directorial effort. Unfortunately, it seems that\u00a0<em>The Midnight Sky<\/em> may be one of his misses, with \/Film reviewer Chris Evangelista calling the film \u201ca well-intentioned misfire.\u201d He wrote in his review:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cSubtlety is not in this film\u2019s vocabulary.\u00a0<em>The Midnight Sky<\/em>\u00a0is ambitious in its attempts at pathos. There\u2019s the germ of something beautiful buried in here; a story trying to tell us that every last life is worth saving even if all seems lost. That\u2019s something worth hearing, but\u00a0<em>The Midnight Sky<\/em>\u00a0fails to even get the conversation going.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It seems a shame that\u00a0<em>The Midnight Sky<\/em> would waste such a promising premise, not to mention a\u00a0screenplay is by\u00a0<strong>Mark L. Smith<\/strong>, who co-wrote\u00a0Alejandro Gonz\u00e1lez I\u00f1\u00e1rritu\u2019s\u00a0<em>The Revenant<\/em>. Plus it\u2019s a waste of Clooney\u2019s impressive bushy beard, which carries as much of his performance as the star\u2019s acting.
