\n Luxury department store Neiman Marcus opened its first Big App<\/a>le location last year \u2014 and it\u2019s already up for grabs thanks to the coronavirus.<\/p>\n

Developer Related Companies is in talks with social media giant Facebook to take over the three floors Neiman Marcus now occupies at Hudson Yards, according to a WWD report.<\/p>\n

\u201cNeiman wants out. Hudson Yards wants them out. They are figuring out an exit agreement,\u201d a source told the publication.<\/p>\n

Facebook already has 1.5 million square feet of office space in three other buildings at the Hudson Yards complex, which consists of 13 swanky office and residential towers wedged between Chelsea and the Javits Center.<\/p>\n

The Dallas, Texas-based department store opened its first Empire State location there in March 2019, and Hudson Yards\u2019 Web site still boasts being the site for \u201cNew York\u2019s first and only Neiman Marcus.\u201d But things changed when the coronavirus hit, forcing the company to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 7.<\/p>\n

Neiman Marcus has declined to comment on \u201cconfidential\u201d discussions with its Hudson Yards landlord but sources say the Big Apple flagship is one of the spaces the chain is looking to close down as part of its restructuring plan, along with locations in Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale and Westchester County, NY.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe always assess our stores based on our footprint to ensure it is optimal to enhance revenues and overall profitability,\u201d a spokeswoman said.<\/p>\n

There is currently no reopening scheduled for the NYC flagship \u2014 or Neiman\u2019s Fifth Avenue department store Bergdorf Goodman. Both Neiman Marcus at Hudson Yards and Bergdorf began fulfilling online orders for curbside pick-up on June 8.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
