\n The names \u2014 and list \u2014 of Knicks coaching candidates keeps getting bigger.<\/p>\n

The Knicks have received permission to interview Hall of Famer Jason Kidd for their head coaching position, according to multiple reports, marking the 11th person new team president Leon Rose will meet with about the job.<\/p>\n

Kidd, who previously spent parts of five years leading the Nets and Bucks, was in the midst of his first season as a Lakers assistant coach \u2014 reportedly, the highest-paid assistant in the league \u2014 when the regular season was suspended on March 11.<\/p>\n

After playing on the Knicks\u2019 most recent playoff team and retiring after that one season with the team in 2013, Kidd was named Brooklyn\u2019s head coach less than two weeks later. The reunion with the franchise he led to back-to-back NBA Finals berths ended with an ugly divorce after just one season, when Kidd attempted to parlay a second round playoff app<\/a>earance into a powerful front office role, only to be denied and traded to Milwaukee for a pair of second-round picks.<\/p>\n

Kidd, 47, led a remarkable turnaround in his first season with the Bucks, taking a team coming off a franchise-low 15 wins to the playoffs. Kidd made another playoff appearance with Milwaukee, but was fired midway through his fourth season in January 2018 despite the support of Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.<\/p>\n

Kidd, who has gone 183-190 as a head coach, didn\u2019t coach again until accepting his first job as an assistant with the Lakers.<\/p>\n

The Knicks will also interview former Cavaliers and Lakers head coach Mike Brown, who has been Golden State\u2019s associate head coach since 2016. Brown, 50, is one of six coaches to be interviewed by the Knicks with previous head-coaching experience, including frontrunner Tom Thibodeau, former Nets coach Kenny Atkinson and former Knicks coach Mike Woodson.<\/p>\n

Other candidates for the position include interim coach Mike Miller, 76ers assistant Ime Udoka, Spurs assistant Will Hardy, Bulls assistant Chris Fleming, Magic assistant Pat Delany and Mavericks assistant Jamahl Mosely,<\/p>\n

Prior to winning two titles with the Warriors, Brown \u2014 who also won a championship as an assistant with the Spurs in 2003 \u2014 led Cleveland to five playoff appearances in five seasons with LeBron James, which included a trip<\/a> to the 2007 NBA Finals and Coach of the Year honors for Brown in 2009. Despite winning the most regular-season game<\/a>s in the league in back-to-back seasons, Brown was fired by the Cavaliers in 2010. He then lasted just 71 games leading the Lakers, before returning for a second stint in Cleveland, which lasted only one season.<\/p>\n

Brown was most recently in charge when he stepped in as Golden State\u2019s head coach during the 2017 playoffs, leading the juggernaut to 12 straight wins before Kerr returned from his back injury.<\/p>\n

The Knicks also interviewed 11 candidates in the 2018 coaching search, which resulted in David Fizdale\u2019s hiring.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
