After adjusting for stock-based compensation and other effects, the software company reported earnings of $1.06 a share, up from 90 cents a share a year earlier. Analysts on average expected adjusted earnings of $1 a share on sales of $9.77 billion, according to FactSet.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       \u201cOur highly profitable multibillion-dollar Fusion and NetSuite Cloud ERP <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lications businesses grew revenue 33% and 21%, respectively, in Q2,\u201d Oracle Chief Executive Safra Catz said in Thursday\u2019s announcement. \u201cThese two strategic cloud-applications businesses are major contributors to Oracle\u2019s increased operating earnings and consistent earnings-per-share growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oracle\u2019s stock sank more than 1% in after-hours trading im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely following the release of the results, after declining 0.5% to $59.43 in the regular session, but then moved back to flat after Catz provided her forecast in Thursday afternoon\u2019s conference call. Catz projected that Oracle would collect third-quarter adjusted earnings of $1.09 to  $1.13 a share and that revenue would grow by 2% to 4%. Analysts had been projecting adjusted earnings of $1.04 a share and year-over-year revenue growth of less than 1.4%.<\/p>\n<p>Shares reached record highs in October but took a dive after another software giant, SAP SE<br \/>\n        SAP,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/207905606\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+0.02%<\/bg-quote><span>,<\/span><br \/>\n       issued a warning about its sales and profit; Oracle\u2019s stock had recovered to roughly its levels before SAP\u2019s warning prior to Thursday afternoon\u2019s report. <\/p>\n<p>Overall, Oracle stock has risen 12.3% in 2020, as the S&amp;P index<br \/>\n        SPX,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210599714\/realtime\" class=\"negative\">-0.13%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       has gained 13.7%.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"byline article__byline\">\n<p>      <span>By<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"author  hasMenu\" data-scrim='{\"type\":\"author\",\"header\":\"Jeremy C.
